Working from out of town. Love coffee and wanted to try a local shop, this one looks very nice. Good atmosphere and in what seems to be a new up and coming / revamped area of Fort Worth. Just to give this review some reference, I am a cold coffee drinker, I like my cold brews, wether I brew at home myself or swing by one of the big coffee chains. So trying this place, number one I wanted to help support local business. Let me just start by saying their âcruffinsâ which is a mix between a crossiant and a muffin was amazing. Never heard of it until then, but I am liking these very tasty, very fluffy and this was a cinnamon one so all the right flavors. Now letâs move on to the coffee. First day I tried a regular cold brew. Number one complaint is their drinks for regular size are very small, so if you drink a lot of coffee or are used to the Seattle based chains small then you will be somewhat disappointed for the price you get less coffee here. But overall taste was okay, just felt like I was getting shorted by the kiddie cup of coffee(I thought everything was bigger in Texas). Next day I ordered nitro cold brew, same exact tiny size , and the nitro cold brew didnât hit me like a normal nitro at a competitor chain would. So Iâm definitely gonna give this place a few more tries and see what other items they have. 3/5...

V60 Ethiopian Natural pourover: well executed, no complaints. Would possibly taste better on a Phoenix 70 due to noting, but was very pleasant.
This new Roots location combines the atmosphere of Novel and Edison in Flower Mound, and transplanted it in Southside Fort Worth. It's smaller than the NRH location, but it is less cozy and more vibrant, like many other Fort Worth third wave shops.
Novel Coffee Roasters is on display here for sure, and that is a plus. Novel recently rebranded from Trio, and in doing so stepped up their artisan game. This is a good mash up for Roots.
The only thing missing is a coffee lab in their vacant space. Word on the street is that the other half is going to become a co-working spot, which is my worst nightmare. Craftwork in Fort Worth's one tick against it's otherwise great company is it's co-working, and I hate to see Roots...
Read moreLove love love this shop! Everyone was super nice, and this area just makes my heart so happy! Literally the second I pulled off of the highway I felt like I was in an area of Kansas City where I'm from and it made me feel like I was home. The exterior is completely eye catching. You can't miss it and it. One you're inside it's even better because the decor is so beautiful. I can't get over the velvet bench seat and the stamped logo on the wood tables! Their menu items are not only seasonal, but INCLUSIVE! They have gluten free and vegan items which I love! I can't even remember the last time I've had a brownie at a coffee shop because I eat plant based, but they have a vegan brownie here, as well as tons of other options! My latte was amazing! I need pick up a bag of that coffee the next time I'm in that area. I cannot wait to continue to explore this part of FW and am so glad I kicked it off with Roots...
