Very disappointed. I ordered a pecan praline cake....and there were no pecans in or on the cake! I can't believe I paid $25 for a plain frosted cake (there was honestly nothing great about it AT ALL) with cinnamon sugar sprinkled around the sides of the cake. Maybe it would be more appropriate to call it a praline cake (because there are no pecans), Sweet Shop. I called the store and spoke with the owner to explain my dissatisfaction and she simply said there was nothing she could do, and offered an "I'm sorry". What happened to customer service? This was a very negative experience.
Added after owner's response: The cake was really pretty and I was very pleased with the presentation. There was no way to know there were no pecans in the "pecan" cake without cutting into said cake. I have now posted pictures of the cake as I was unsure of how to do this at the time I originally posted this review, because I NEVER leave reviews. That should tell you something. I have also made a comparison of the praline cake I found on your FB page BEFORE ordering. I shared with you that I am from Louisiana to let you know that the basis of my expectation is experience. I have been making pecan pralines for over 30 years, so I know what a pecan praline is and what it consists of. Take a wild guess at what the main ingredient is. It's PECANS! You didn't need to replace the cake to make this right, however you could have done more than nothing, which is what you did. You did nothing but tell me there was nothing you could do. You also could have offered me a credit or discount on a future order, but you didn't. That is what excellent customer service looks like. That is how you build customer satisfaction and loyalty. My review is just and is now more properly supported...
Read moreI stopped by this bakery while on travel and passing through the area thinking it would be a great treat. However, I was sadly mistaken! On the board it clearly says cupcakes are 2.95 each and cookies are 75 cents each. I ordered one strawberry cheesecake cupcake, a snickerdoodle, and a sugar cookie with icing. My total should be 4.45 before taxes; however, it was around $6.50. I asked the cashier how she came about this total, and she states, "Oh, the larger cookies are 1.95." I asked why this price isn't listed on the board as well, and she said she didn't know. It's not right to provide misleading information to customers regarding the prices of your products. They need to list all prices on their price list. Once I got back in my vehicle and back on the road, I bit into the strawberry cupcake, and it was ICE COLD as if they took it out the freezer and put in a bag. So, I chunked that back into the bag. Then I tried the snicker doodle cookie and the sugar cookie with icing, and they were hard as ROCK! So, I immediately threw those in the bag as well. Needless to say, I threw all of it in the trash when I stopped at a convenience store; it was a waste...
Read moreWe purchased a mystery gift card envelope for charity at a benefit for the Humane Society of North Texas last year. The card was for The Sweet Spot, who I loved for donating to support the animal shelter before I even went there to redeem it!
We selected a lemon cake that was just gorgeous out of their ready made cooler - not to worry as it was fresh and flavorful and kept for several days in our icebox while we worked our way through it. The star of the show though was the Dreamsicle cupcake we also picked up! It was SO SO GOOD and although we don't live anywhere near here we've decided it's worth the drive to come get some more goodies!
The staff who waited on us were so friendly, too even though they were already busy that morning. I can see why they are popular!
Thanks Sweet Spot for supporting the animals and for the delicious...
