So, this was my second attempt to go to this place. Looked super interesting and kid friendly. First time we went was super cold outside and no places to sit with heater. Supposed to have 5 food trucks and only had One open...so we left. We tried again tonight (Saturday night). We got there at about 6pm. It was me and 4 of My kids (17, 14, 13, and 3). Due to them so busy we had to merge some seating and we kept getting asked if we were using our chairs.
Took almost 30 minutes to get drinks. None of the food trucks had beverages as an option (except one had $2 bottle waters after a 50 minute line wait). Got the Mother trucker which was supposed to be a blue berry long island...The first half of the cup was water. Paid $3 per cup of Coke (only choice was bar drinks...Coke, diet Coke, cranberry or pineapple juice, bottle and sparkling bottle water). First drink tab was $40.00 (2 water, 3 Coke, 1 mixed cocktail). Also note no refills on soda.
We divided and conquered at 630p for food. BBQ place was out of everything but a Mac and chz with chicken and sausage ( 2 of them was $35). 50 minutes later daughter was able to pay $85 for 5 grilled cheese and 5 French fries. My son ordered 1 serving of chicken empanadas for $14. The food took 90 minutes to get grilled cheese, french fries and empanadas. It took (i timed it) 46.5 minutes to get the two mac and chz with sausage and chicken. Yes, it did come hot. While we were waiting the 90 minutes I ordered 1 Coke $3(to refill the kids), a different mixed drink $9.00(iced Pina colada basically) and a vodka shot $7.00...I dont drink, but MAYBE once a year. Honestly vodka was glorified rubbing alcohol. Pina colada had flavor....after the first half of water. It was about 75 degrees outside. The second order was $26 after tip.
2.5 hours later we left hungry and thirsty, and honestly my stomach is rocking and rolling (not in a good way). We voted unanimously that we would never return again...At this price I could've afforded FINE DINING and at least enjoyed my dinner. I would've given 1 star, but the waitress that brought our drinks both times was so damn nice and professional that I gave another star. I wish there was some way to have identified her...maybe a name tag?! Honestly I don't know that I could even recommend this place to my single or less kid loaded co-workers at the hospital. After 3 drinks (2 mixed and a shot...I dont even think I'd get close to the legal limit...glorified flavored water and of course rubbing...
Read moreYesterday, I spent the afternoon at Truckyard. The bartenders were so helpful and went out their way to give me a pleasant experience, except ONE. I arrived solo to meet my friend and was a bit shy, but the woman bartender with the braces who greeted me was so kind and asked me have I been before. When I told her no, she took time explaining the crafted drinks and gave me samples. She made me feel like home. I loved it. I knew I would be buying lots of drinks and coming back because ALL of the drinks were the BOMB! I got the Mule.. I have been dying to try espresso martinis and saw it was on the menu. I returned back and had a new bartender. He was huffy and irritated. I asked him a couple of questions and then ordered the martini. I picked a whiskey for my friend (comes in a bottle) and left confused why he was so standoffish at me and totally different vibe than 1st bartender. Well, I made the mistake ordering the whiskey, maybe just being all in my thoughts from his service. When I came back apologetic he seemed even more irritated. He goes to the manager to ask if I could exchange, and I over heard the manager say "The customer is always right!" - I am never one to try and swindle and I hate returning stuff, but the way the manager supported me made up for that Bartender being a bit "off" (maybe just a bad day). Anyways... I share this because I want everyone to know that this establishment really prides themselves in the customer first mentality, and because of this I will gladly keep coming back. Oh...!! the food and live music is such a vibe. You can also bring your dogs!! I'll be a regular all summer....
Read moreMe and my family was super excited about this place. We rode 20 minutes to see what the big hipe was about. While ordering our food was met with a rude manger telling us that we are no more special then any others. Reason for the manager was we had been sitting for over 30 minutes with no one coming to ask if we wanted anything to drink. By this time my 5 yearold is getting impatient as he was hungry. A employee even asked us to have our son stop running around. It seems that the manager was more worried about sitting down with a group of people and taking shots then making sure that us paying customers are being looked after. Overall I rate this place as the worst experience I have had. Truck yard in Dallas is way better and should not allow this establishment to have the same name. Food was poor in my opion I have had better food at a elementary school. Adding to this I would love to meet with upper management. I believe you have a serious problem with your management on site. There should be no reason for them to call the police every time someone has been drinking especially if that person is not causing any trouble. Back in the day you would just call them a cab. As far as the lady manager that is friends with the cop that was involved with the death of the nice old lady 2 years ago she should not be involved with policing your establishment she is very good friends with her and has her on speed dial to be called at any time . When I seen that lady cop it bring back bad memories of what she was a part of poor old lady shot...
