The venue itself is not particularly impressive, but it is definitely a must-try.
Gyro & Burrito House is attached to a gas station (similar to most Golden Chick restaurants I've seen) and it is the restaurant equivalent of an efficiency apartment. The inside is very tiny, and they do make excellent use of the space they have, but it does result in a less-than-comfortable experience for customers. There is precious little seating space, so most customers get their food to-go. As I waited for my order, I was standing directly inside of the doors, so of course I was in the way for anyone else wanting to come in.
I'd never had a gyro like this before, and I was not expecting it. I enjoyed it very much, but the entire reaction spectrum is fair game when having it for the first time. I think of it was a hamburger + taco in gyro clothing. Yes, at its core it is a gyro. Now add hamburger fixings: lettuce, tomato (and not the big chunks like you typically get with a gyro), and pickles (that one really surprised me). There's also a lot of cilantro, hence the taco part. They normally come with raw onions, but I had mine grilled (and they were good). There is cucumber sauce, but it is much less than you'd find on a "normal" gyro, and the flavor is different (much milder, I thought). It was very unique, and everyone who isn't stuck in a "comfort zone" rut should give it a try.
Remember, you heard the term here first -- "the restaurant equivalent of an efficiency apartment." I...
Read moreThis is absolutely my fav lunch spot I’ve ever found. Im someone who has to change it up, can hardly do leftovers but when I say I go here 3x a week at least it not everyday for lunch I’m not over exaggerating. Somehow the best gyro and the best burrito I’ve ever had, everything fresh and always is 10/10 the guys up there are cool as hell and service is quick. Like can be out the door and you won’t be there longer than 10-15 on their busiest times. One of the few places that the price matches the food you’re getting. They have tons of options which is why I can go everyday. Get tacos, then burrito, then quesadillas, then a gyro. I haven’t even mentioned or tried their breakfast that ends at 11am and I hear it’s even better and more popular. I know everyone hates when places ask for tip on the iPad but I feel compelled to give these guys a couple extra dollars everyday I’m here. Which is everyday. Thank you to the guys up there for serving...
Read moreThis is being posted after a handful of time of being rudely treated by staff. I am posting this on behalf of my coworkers who have gone here to pick up food for just a handful of people who we work with. We work at a large company that requires many of us to stay for extended hours and thus we elect a person to go and pick up food for us so that we may continue to diligently work. This final and past occasion, after coming here for years, we have been told that only one credit card may be used to place out orders. Some times there only three of us ordering, sometimes there is ten. This is not feasible for customers to do and should be facilitated by those providing the service themselves. Upon the mistreatment and unscrupulous business practices. This is a warning to those who work at or near the airport to expect the same treatment for anyone who places group...
