I really feel as if they deserve 2.5 stars, but that's not an option. This restaurant created mixed feelings for me, I wanted to give them more stars, but I was just underwhelmed. I am generally unfamiliar w/Vietnamese cuisine, so I am basing the following info relative to the choices off their menu. I prefer a protein, a starch, and veggies combination on a plate and I asked the server if there was anything that came w/a good sauce. He suggested the sizzling filet mignon entree, which I ordered. This entree is my main complaint. The single pro is that the brown sauce was rather delicious and garlicky; however, any further potential for that dish to impress was halted right at that point. I feel that a premium cut of steak such as filet mignon should not be drowning in a sea of limpy cabbage, and I tired of having to sift through unappetizing lumps of it trying to uncover any meat. additionally, I know that filet mignon is a small thick cut of meat, and that it may shrink a little bit when cooking, but there was so little meat that that dish it was not worth the $17 which it cost me. You could have just used a delicious sirloin steak, which is cheaper than filet mignon, and given the customer a better value for the food. The rest of the food was a let-down as well: hot tea, but no honey available, The atmosphere was filled with loud Merry-go-round music, and the dessert I ordered also disappointed because it didn't have any whip cream topping and I thought the vanilla ice cream tasted too imitation. I am sorry, but I don't think that I will...
Read moreThe food here isn't extraordinarily better than other pho places, but the service is extraordinarily the worst! We always order to pick up because we just live down the street, why sit in the restaurant when I can enjoy the food at the comfort of my house? So I think we are so regular the waitresses there recognize my face, and probably know that I will always order to go. So today, I went in again for another to go order, the tall, high cheekbone waitress just saw right through me like I'm thin air and ushered the customers who entered after me to a table!!! She didn't even let me finish my sentence when I was trying to tell her I have a to-go order! Yeah, I'm here not to sit in, and you won't earn a damn dime for tip, but I'm still a customer at the restaurant you work for!!! This tells me how much you care about your work place! And I have no doubt that you have cheated many other customers by judging if they are here for pick up or sit-in!!! Or maybe it's because I'm Asian, and Asians don't give tips? Then that becomes a downright racism problem! My family used to own a restaurant and knows what proper waitressing is! If she were to work at my restaurant, she'd be long gone! There are plenty girls out there...
Read moreBOTTOM LINE: It's Bad Folks, Real Bad!
SUMMARY: Anyone saying "best pho" yada yada has no clue what Pho should be. This was the worst pho place I've been to.
Food Problems: (Chicken Pho Lunch Special) Bowl was small Chicken was spongy, like it has been boiled for 3 days. Side we're sparse and stale - Pho came with a small sad sprig of basil, 1 half cut jalapeno, acceptable handful of sprouts. Egg roll was chewy and small. Like a microwave egg roll. Egg roll came served with sweet and sour sauce? Huh
Service Problems: Mainly drinks, we ran out of tea and had to get up to find the waitress to refill drinks. Also asked for lime for tea that was never brought out.
Atmosphere Problems: It's called Pho and Sports Bar ?? They had KERA Cartoons on the TV Music was AWFUL. Hip Hop songs being sung in like a smooth jazz folk song style. Literally had to listen to Old Town Road being sung by Jewel (sounded like it)
Sorry for the rant but after I left this place I wanted to punch myself in the face. Nothing about this place was worth returning. My apologies...
