I have eaten here 3 different times and have never been impressed despite so many people singing praises about this place. My most recent experience was the worst.

For several years that we've lived here, theres always been signs out that kids eat free on Sundays. We were craving mexican food, and with a family of 7, you've got to keep the budget in mind. I suggested Habaneros because of the kids eat free promotion. Little did we know, this had recently changed, and the little mesh sign on the unused door was hardly legible, which we missed while dealing with the little ones.

The server said he'd been there less than a week, and it was very obvious he had very little knowledge of the menu or the ability to substitute items. We finally did get our order placed and food didn't take too long to come out. The taste of the food was ok, but nothing exceptional. The refried beans in the bottom of the taco salad, made the shell bowl soggy. My $8 nachos would never have filled me up, if it weren't for the complimentary chips and salsa, and the fish and fries portion from the kids menu, barely filled our 4 year old.

When we finally received the bill, we were shocked at the amount and asked about the kids meals being at regular price. The server said the manager had forgotten to take them off and went to have it adjusted. A few minutes later, he returned saying that he'd forgotten he had someone in earlier asking the same thing, and that the kids eat free us now on Thursday and not Sunday. We told him that was part of the reason we were there. Our server just stood there rather dumbfounded, didn't offer to see if they could adjust it, or for us to speak to the manager.

By now our little ones were getting restless, so Mom and the children headed to the car while I stayed to pay. The card and bill sat on the edge of the table for at least 5 minutes, while 2 young ladies bussed 98% of the table, only leaving my water and not wiping the table down. The server eventually went to run my card, which took another 5 minutes, as I sat at my nearly clean table. The whole process took so long, that 2 of the children came in multiple times to make sure I was ok.

As I left, I looked at the sign on the door which was a see through mesh type material with yellow and white lettering on a light turquoise background. The pictures I took of it were more legible than to the unaided eye. But after this coupled with 2 other less than great experiences, I will not be returning to...

Habanero's: A Culinary Journey Through Authentic Mexican Flavors

As we approached Habanero's, the enticing aroma of authentic Mexican cuisine enveloped us, promising a delightful dining experience. Upon entering on a Thursday evening, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated by JD, who, despite typically being the cook, took on the role of our attentive host. His professionalism and genuine hospitality set the tone for what would be an unforgettable meal.

Eager to explore the menu, we sought JD's recommendations, and he enthusiastically suggested the Baja Platter. This sizzling sampler was a feast for the senses, featuring two Texas Twinkies—stuffed jalapeños filled with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in crispy bacon and drizzled with a honey sriracha glaze. Accompanying these were two chicken flautitas, two beef empanadas, and chicken fajita quesadillas, all served with a trio of queso, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The quesadillas were a highlight, boasting a cheese pull that stretched over two feet, a testament to their gooey perfection.

We also indulged in the HABS Fajitas, a vibrant medley of skirt steak and chicken, sautéed with fresh bell peppers and onions, served sizzling on a skillet. This dish came with charro beans, rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and warm tortillas, creating a symphony of flavors and textures. We couldn't resist adding three 'fall-off-the-bone' ribs, which elevated the meal to new heights. Every bite was a celebration of taste!

What truly set our visit apart was the heartfelt letter typed by the owners, placed on each table. Their sincerity and passion for family and community resonated deeply, leaving us with a sense of connection that brought a tear to our eyes. It was clear that their love for humanity infused every aspect of the restaurant.

To our delight, owner Laurence took the time to check in on us, a rare and thoughtful gesture that made us feel valued as guests. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Habanero's for their dedication to excellence and for providing such remarkable hospitality. This is a place where culinary passion and genuine care come together, making it a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic...

Anything but Fresh Tex-Mex.

It's not that the food was bad it's just that all the food tasted like it came our of a freezer bag or boil in the bag pouch. Like there is a giant warehouse that you can just pick up bland Tex-Mex food, heat it up and serve it to your patrons at a slightly above reasonable price. I don't know, someplace like Sams Club or Costco.

Despite the food being something reminiscent of bulk warehouse food, the worst part was the immediate disingenuousness and the over all service level. Upon arrival there was nobody to greet my the party or seat us. When we were "discovered" standing at the entrance to the restaurant by a less than enthusiastic employee we were seated outside and had to wait an even longer time before a waiter showed up to begin the ordering process. I understand being busy on a Friday night but the real issue was being grossly understaffed on a Friday night. Better management and planning can prevent this from happening. To say the least service was slow but to our waiters credit he tried his best to serve the table when he could mange to get back to us.

The disingenuous part come from an offer printed on the side of the napkin dispenser suggesting texting a code to receive a free bowl of queso. Who doesn't want free melted cheese? What's not immediately apparent is that in extremely small print on bottom of the offer is a disclaimer that only 1 in 4 texts will receive the offer. So basically you're gambling for melted cheese. My big problem here is just how dishonest a business is when they seem to offer you something only to inform you that they are really not going to always give you what they offered you. Kinda like promising you something with their fingers crossed behind their backs.

Due to lackluster and uninspired Tex-Mex food, inadequate service and insincerity I can not recommend spending your time and money here. I can recommend just about any Taco Bell or Taco Bueno if you want better food and a better experience.
