I was let down after having breafast/ brunch here. On the way to our table we passed the plates and scraps bins the servers use to set aside plates aside they clear tables. The plates were thrown into the bins and the food had spattered. Not a good view for waiting to be seated, 25 minute wait, and entering the restaurant. We were there for the small airport vibe but it was hard to look past the dirty floor, walls, ceiling and dusty greasy vents. Our seating area also smelled bad. The food was disappointing. The chicken enchiladas were cold as in out of the refrigerator cold and a little mangled up because separating cold enchiladas is not an easy task. The sausage was cold too. Not luke warm. That was a big turn off. I left my entire plate i got from the buffet area and headed for the fresh made omelettes and pancakes. The cooks seemed overwhelmed but they made the best of it. The cooking area was cramped and the lines to wait or lack of clear lines was confusing. The omelettes were normal omelettes. What i would go back for is the pineapple upside down pancakes. They were fantastic. My son devoured 2 cinnamon rolls. We didn't leave hungry but i would never go for the buffet again. Its right at $35 for 2 buffets 2 drinks and tax. Not including tip. Speciality drinks were very over priced. Depending on what kind of drink you order you might be better off going to Blue Mesa because the drinks and bottomless mimosas are included in the price there. Our server was nice but it felt unnecessary to pay for a tip when we didn't really have waiter service. She got our drinks a few feet behind us and that was it. great, friendly local service, nice local place, used to look out on a small airfield, but they moved. got a mix if 3 pancakes; blueberry, pineapple and lemon, all good, shared the pancakes, they were a good size. the hashbrown/corned beef/egg dish, split a large order was fabulous, what a concept. don't rush to put salt or pepper on the eggs, they have flavor from the corned beef.
Update November 2024 Excellent service, cook nice young guy cooking pancakes, waitresses friendly and efficient and refill coffee ☕ timely. Beacon Cafe Sunday buffet custom pancakes made to order while you wait, 15 choices. I had 1 pumpkin pancake, 1 blueberry with pecans and one other. Lots of bacon and sausage patties. Lots of fruit and cinnamon rolls and juices choices, reasonable price considering all you can eat. Used to go on Friday noon to get 3 pancake special and fabulous corn beef hash cooked within over medium eggs. I'm not sure, torn, which is better, the Sunday buffet (buffet only) made to order pancakes or the mixed pancake platter and fabulous corned beef hash with egg cooked in on Fridays. No corn beef hash on Sundays. Go Friday and Sunday and choose yourself. My buffet, 3 plates (after hiking eagle mountain lake,10 minutes away).
