Watauga Library: Books, Ballet, and Bigfoot. Listen, I’ve been to a lot of libraries, but Watauga Library? This place gets it. The book selection is top-notch—I could use a few more Joe Todd Stanton books for the kids, but hey, nobody’s perfect. But the real star of the show? The programming. I don’t know who’s running this, but they deserve a serious raise. Anyone bold enough to book Lyle Blackburn deserves a medal, a trophy, and possibly their own statue in front of the building. That’s the kind of decision-making we need in all public institutions. Also, I once saw a ballet performance here. At a library. And you know what? I wasn’t even surprised. If I walked in one day and saw a medieval jousting tournament happening between the bookshelves, I’d just assume Watauga Library was at it again. 10/10, phenomenal place. Great books, wild events, and a programming director who clearly isn’t afraid to make things interesting.

Would rate this library well except for the fact that they wrongly accuse me of minor water damage that I didn't even do or notice on my child's book that she checked out! I had to pay $19 for a book that "needed to be replaced" because of the damage done to the book. We didn't even do this damage to the book! We never noticed the damage when we checked this out. Absolutely ridiculous! Will not be going back, unfortunately. I will add some pictures of the "damaged" book here so it can be seen how minor the "water damage" is. All that can be seen is a slight wrinkling of the pages. Definitely not enough to have to replace the book entirely!

First off I want to start off with saying coodoos to this library there's no better representation of community and love of diversity they treat every one no matter how much money they make sexual orientation or religion with the upmost respect my favorite part about this library is there exchange program they have going on with inflation and tough times the people are going through as a community we can help our neighbors by donating all sorts of clothing food or miscellaneous items to support each other in our time of needs this library is well decorated and always has some sort of event going on

This is the only library branch in the Fort Worth Library system that still charges late fees for borrowed items. Fort Worth ought to sever it's partnership with the Watauga Public Library. It makes things confusing for patrons when one library branch charges late fees and all the rest do not. The penalty for overdue items is a fine of up to $500.00. That is essentially theft and is extremely problematic for many reason. I will not be supporting the Watauga Public Library in the future, and I will lobby Fort Worth Libraries to put a moratorium on all borrows from Watauga until they decide to abolish their overdue fee policy. It's outdated, get with the...
