We had lunch here today and it was ok. First, the restaurant layout is a little strange. There is almost no place to stand out of the way to look at the menu, because there is just one very narrow hallway to wait in. The staff were all very friendly and our orders all came out correctly and quickly. The seating area itself is also pretty cramped, with some tables very close together so that people have to awkwardly slide between them to go to the bathroom or get a refill. It didn't help that they had a drink vendor delivering a dolly full of drinks to the bar in the middle of the restaurant.
Food: I ordered the mac n cheeseburger, my husband got the Lockhart legend, and we got an order of cheese fries. The mac n cheeseburger looked impressive and arrived with mac n cheese falling out of it onto the plate. Yum. However, all the bacon also fell out so I had to scrape it all back inside. My burger was also well done, despite them saying it would be medium well. The patty had a good flavor and the mac and cheese was tasty but all together it was kind of dry. It needs something else. Its basically a plain burger with mac and cheese on it. The menu said it had cheese sauce but I couldn't tell. Still, it wasn't enough send it back and I still ate it and it was alright.
The Lockhart legend was pretty good, although my husband said he couldn't taste any bbq sauce on it at all. It was also well done.
The cheese fries were a big portion but really really salty. They were pretty normal fries with cheese, bacon and 4 strips of jalapeno. The toppings were just on the top layer of fries so once that gets eaten you're left with a pretty big portion of plain salty fries.
Again the food wasn't terrible and wasn't worth the time and effort to get anything remade (we still ate it all) so it was just ok. Tasty but...ok. We might try it...
Read moreIt’s sometimes hard to give a burger place five stars however this one leaves nothing to criticize, which should not be a focus anyway as a reviewer! The entire buildout is open, modern, crisp, colorful, and decidedly NOT silly or overdone, as places easily can be. We started with the green chili queso fries. In addition to the chili queso, there are also standard options of ketchup and mustard along with chipotle ketchup and honey mustard. I must honestly say the sauces are completely accurately named and the refreshing tastes were spot on. I had a hard time getting away from the queso or chipotle even with such options! A pleasant challenge to have. Quite good! The fries came out first on purpose and really is a proper call in the entire experience. It not only gives you something to nibble on while entrees are prepared, but allows for gently passing the time, and granting an opportunity to peruse the bar. We orders the chicken tenders with hot honey sauce and the Goodnight burger. Both were prepared as ordered and cleanly presented. I was personally quite happy that they served my burger with a ‘real’, serrated knife, which most places do not; and if so is often a dull butter knife. Portions were ample, especially after scarfing the fries. The entire staff was absolutely positive, well-educated on the menu, etc, and exhibited professionalism down to retrieving to-go containers, etc on request. We even asked for a copy of the receipt, as I learned they have a rewards program, which I downloaded while there. They were even able to quickly dig that up and print it. I often comment on bathrooms as they are an overlooked item in many establishments. These are sharply kept and quite sanitary. Well done. There is truly something for everyone, from the indoor and outdoor seating, to the kids items and a full bar for the adult in many of us. I...
Read moreI saw the reviews and thought I would try this out of the world burger that I saw by the reviews. I ordered the scorpion and my wife order the regular cheeseburger. My burger was so raw it was mushy and cold and my wifes, who specified well done, was raw about half of the pattie. And to top it off my wife bit into her onion ring and it was literally no bullcrap the batter and the outer onion skin. I bout got sick knowing this day and age due to the pandemic that someone who I don't know and don't know if they washed there hands[how can I assume they did when they didn't even know they battered literal onion skin] I was so humiliated that I recommended and ordered this place for my wives birthday not to mention we had family from out of town visiting [luckily they already ate at the air port] seeing this that we have not seen in Over a year and I recommended this establishment. Due too all the liars that wrote reviews as 5 star on this place. It's voted the best place in Colorado but that must be cause there all stoned and don't know burgers. This is Texas we know what a burger good old fashioned one should be like and this is not it!! What scares me the most about the whole situation is if some disgruntled or perhaps ignorant employee didn't know or feel that was a onion skin. Has absolutely no regard for human health and I'm literally shaking. I do not usually write reviews unless something is totally off kilter I try to give places the benefit of the doubt because I own my own company and know sometimes employees mess up and don't necessarily represent the company but this was too far and the lack of quality control is grossly...
