Came after worship with my group. Food and drinks were great. Bowling was super fun! Staff was kind despite it being super busy. The thing that upset me was when I was helping my elderly Friend (who uses a walker) to her car I realized the handicap accessibility was extremely lacking. Yes there is handicap parking. Yes there is a ramp. However, the ramp is on the opposite side of the building from the parking and is only accessible by traversing around behind the building. This might be manageable for someone on a motorized chair but for someone using a wheelchair, cane, crutches, or in my sweet Friends case, a walker, would have a much more difficult time. Now if cars are parked far enough down, a non ambulatory person could cut straight in front of the building to the ramp. It’s still a lot of distance to cover for someone who tires out easily or has extremely limited mobility. However because of trucks and other vehicles, a lot of the sidewalk is blocked at the front of the building. Regardless the signage directs people to go behind the building to get to the accessible entrance. I made that walk myself after helping my Friend down the stairs and I felt angry on behalf of others who would be forced to make that journey. It felt disrespectful. The crazy thing is there is an entrance to the business right next to the handicap parking but the only way to get to it is by climbing stairs. There is parking near the ramp but it is not handicap. So I think in order to fix this either the parking needs to be moved or a ramp needs to be made near the handicap parking. This building may be technically ADA compliant but I feel it fails to treat all customers with dignity and respect. I know the building owner and the business owner are likely two seperate beings. However I do feel it is the business’ duty to advocate for their patrons. Remember that disability is not an if but a when for most of us. The older you get the more likely you are to become disabled yourself. Would you find traveling an additional 100 or so yards, past trash and around trees to be respectful treatment? Imagine those who might have to do that in the dark? It was 100% a 5 star experience for me as an able bodied person. But on behalf of my Friend and other non/semi ambulatory neighbors I can’t in good conscience give that rating. Edit: in response to the owners reply- please put the instructions you’ve given me on your handicap parking signs so that first time disabled visitors are aware that this is an option. Thank you for...
Read moreDon’t ignore some of the lower reviews here. Went in last week and really thought if I would leave a review. I never do but my experience was so poor. Brought a friend here from out of town and we were greeted once I approached the desk for shoe sizes. The blonde woman running it was friendly to explain they would get us started and showed a lane for us. After that….. a whole bowling game ($30 later) still no one checked on us. Someone who was cleaning the place noticed I was about to walk to another group of guests for some water because there was no one working to offer that to us. Being a new customer I thought perhaps the jugs of water on the other guests table were for everyone but I was luckily told before I made myself embarrassed. The lady cleaning said she would grab our waitress. We start a new (2nd) game of bowling trying to give this place a chance. Halfway through… our waitress still doesn’t show up. The lady cleaning asks again if she showed up, we said no. Finally… our waitress shows up. I don’t recall her name but she was longer dark hair and large round glasses. She immediately approached us with no enthusiasm or friendliness. we ordered drinks and wings. Neither of which arrived until we began our last (3rd) game. Mind you… each game is $30 so I felt very unappreciated that we had to spend that much time and money there before really being served… our food arrived after our last game. Other than those interactions, our waitress did not check to see how we were doing. I asked if she could take our food to the tables once it was done since we were no longer bowling. She brought the wings at the end of the game and refused to help us move to the other side of the place to eat. The wings were also dry and room temperature. The flavor was there but I felt like our waitress let them sit so long before bringing them… She gave us a check without asking if we needed anything else…… just a terrible experience all around and I was very disappointed to bring my friend here. Especially in this great area of south main. If I were the owner, I would have been mortified to see how my employees lacked complete friendless for a place that is meant to be fun and entertaining…. Not sure we will return especially after that. Wanted to...
Read moreThis was one of my favorite places to gather like 2-4 people to go bowling . The food was pretty decent and our sever was pretty cool . When we first walked in we paid of course like everyone does .. we ordered some food and drinks and paid after she took our order and for the ones who ordered on their phone of course they had to pay before the food came out . One person wanted to pay in cash so that she could leave a cash tip. We walked to the front by the register for her to pay and for some reason we got told that we need to pay again. ( even after receipts and everything were already handed) This is all said and done by the same person who we have went to ,to pay to get in . Once I told her that we have already paid she did something on the screen and sorta side eyed me and said ok . Not sure where the confusion came from or how that could have been a mistake. It always seems to be something wrong or a “mistake” when we go now .We would play one round and for some reason get charged for two no extra names ,no extra people no extra anything . When we would bring it up they would fix it of course but it’s like I feel like they try to get over especially when you have been drinking . The lady that’s always in the front by the register always seems to have a little attitude about it as well, as if it comes out of her paycheck. It was starting to rain a little harder so of course the other girls tried to hurry and get to the car before it started to rain a little harder. So I’m guessing she thought maybe let me make sure they paid …(which they did of course) To me it’s just a little weird how you charge us and we pay for everything and right before we leave get asked did we still need to pay. Not to mention while we were bowling the pins would fall down and when they would come back up some would be missing and even the pins that we knocked down came back up . Someone hit a strike it was still there turn next for some reason and she still had to roll again and knock 4 more down . That happened quite a bit during the hour that we played . Even after pressing the help button, nobody wanted to go to the lady at the front who was top...
