I have been a member and active congregant at Saint Patrick’s for most of my life, and I can say with absolute certainty that it is the finest parish I have ever been to. Yes, it’s beautiful. Yes, it’s historic, but the best thing about this parish are its staff and clergy.
I can tell you from first-hand experience that they are the most devout, pro-life, pro-family, and loving people you will ever meet. Father John Robert Skeldon, the Rector, has been a staunch advocate of local pro-life apostolates, volunteering his time and considerable talents to support the Church’s mission of protecting and preserving Life. As the administrator and executive director of one such organization, I cannot begin to express how much his efforts and dedication has meant to our mission, regularly celebrating Mass for us, blessing our building, and tirelessly supporting our efforts.

Read moreThis is obviously the most beautiful Church in the diocese, but the music is also at a very high standard and the liturgy is overall very reverent. They occasionally play some of the sappy, vacuous 80's Catholic songs, especially during communion (which is the worst time to throw those out), but overall it's still a nice liturgy, especially if Fr John Robert is presiding. His homilies are rock solid, as are the musings you get in the bulletin (basically a short "blog" on the readings for that day). They aren't afraid of incense either.

I guess confessional was going on (I don't know as I'm not Catholic). I set there silently partly in prayer and the other just admiring how beautiful the Cathedral looked. Then a man came in and set in the pew behind me. As he passed his elbow hit me in the head pretty hard. He apologized and I said no problem and smiled. I turned a little later to get a glance and he had sit over to the side of the pew up against the wall. I returned to my meditation and then looked back again and he was gone.
