Sesame's Kitchen — Restaurant in Fortuna Foothills

I’m only writing this review because I need to let out my hurt and anger at this one person who works there. I don’t know if she owns the place or the manager of it all but you woman shouldn’t treat people the way you do!! I won’t stand face to face with you in an argument because I know I would loose control and say some nasty words! I’m that angry still. This last visit was the worst and pushed me to never go there any more!! I NEVER GET RUDENESS AT YUMA THAI CUISINE!! The LADY OVER THERE IS SO SWEET!! NOT LIKE YOU!! I was there at your restaurant a few weeks ago getting my take out order for my hubby and myself. I got there probably around 7:40pm. I sat in my car for a few minutes to talk to my grandson who lives in Texas. I wanted to talk with him. The woman I mentioned at the beginning came out and another person did too. The woman stood at the door with it open looking I guess at me. I thought she was looking at the sky at something. So then I told my grandson to hold on be a I need to get my order. From there I went to the door and asked what she is looking at because I didn’t see anything in the sky….she said I looking at you if you were going to place an order or picking up. She came all the way out to check on me for that? By now we are the register and I told her to pick up….and I pointed to the clock on her wall the it’s only 10 Minton 8:00pm and they don’t close til 8:30pm. I know I had time. She then informed me that the kitchen closes at 8:15pm. There is still definitely time before the kitchen is supposed to close! She is definitely at this point being so controlling over this whole ordeal and she doesn’t need to. She is also showing me that she doesn’t like me. There are other times when she was rude with her tone to my hubby and I that wasn’t right. She has proved to me that because we did come in late months ago and she informed me then that they close at 8:30pm. We said we know and was out with left over food at 8:30pm. We were there about a few weeks later and came in around 7:00ish pm to make sure she didn’t comment to us when a few people came in a couple minutes after 8:00pm and she said nothing to them about closing at 8:30pm!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT A SINGLE WORD!!!!!! My hubby even looked at me and said something about it. So woman you definitely have an issue with me so my money will go to YUMA THAI CUISINE!!!!!! THAT LADY OVER THERE IS DEFINITELY PROFESSIONAL AND NOT YOU!! YOU WOMAN ARE ABUSING YOUR AUTHORITY AND I DON’T DESERVE IT!! I never did...

The food was hit or miss. Too much reliance on soy sauce. The egg rolls were just ok, but the dipping sauce was really good and there was a good amount. The shrimp with broccoli was tasty, but the sauce wasn’t thickened at all and poured like soup. So a good amount was all over the bag. The Singapore noodles with shrimp were a huge disappointment. They were dark brown, not the sunny yellow they should be. Way way way too much soy sauce. If I had been in the restaurant I would’ve sent it back. The side order of fried rice was pretty much just rice with soy sauce. I also got a side order of lo mein noodles and surprise,surprise, the dominant flavor was soy sauce.

One last thing, if you use the beyondmenu online ordering, they don't tell you how long it's going to take until AFTER you've placed the order, and then there's no way to cancel it. That's not the restaurant's fault, it's just the platform that they're using, but it's something to be aware of. I placed the order at 10 after 7:00, and when I hit the place order button, it informed me that my anticipated delivery time was an hour and a half from the present time. I would have never ordered if I had known it was going to take that long. Yes, I could have called the restaurant and canceled it and then fought with BeyondMenu/Paypal to get my money back, but I just let it ride. It ended up taking about 40 minutes, which is pretty standard and I was quite okay with. Update: 2021. This business is under new ownership. My last visit there prior to the new ownership was a real disappointment, cold food, items left out of my order etc. I haven't been back since it has changed hands, but I have heard good things about it. Eventually I'll try it and review it again at that time. For now I'm dropping it from 5 stars to 3 stars based on my last experience, and knowing it's under new ownership.

My first time here! The place is clean, the people are very friendly and my meal was great! I look forward to coming back here again and trying out other entrees. The prices are about average. The place is on the small side but its comfortable. I enjoyed my visit and recommend checking them out! I returned to this place later in the week to check out some of their other dishes. The place was busy but I did find a seat. Although busy it was clean and orderly. The gal was right on it with the service. Fast and friendly. This time I tried the appetizer cream cheese puffs. Wow! Hot and crunchy. Perfect color and the creamy cheese just melted in your mouth. Then for my meal I had the cashew chicken and let me tell you they arent stingy on the nuts or the chicken.
