Nestled in a charming location with a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking a fountain, Alexander’s Greek Kitchen offers a delightful dining experience that feels like a warm escape to Greece. From the friendly owner to the hearty portions, everything about this place exudes authenticity and hospitality.
We opted to sit outside, enjoying the relaxing view of the fountain and the serene atmosphere. The setting was perfect for an evening meal, with a light breeze adding to the ambiance. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, stopping by to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and even sharing a few recommendations from the menu. His genuine friendliness made the experience even more special.
The portions at Alexander Greek Restaurant are impressively large—perfect for sharing or for those with hearty appetites. Everything we tried was full of authentic Mediterranean flavors, and the ingredients tasted fresh and vibrant.
Greek Meze Platter: This was an excellent way to start the meal. The platter included hummus, tzatziki, and a feta spread with peppers (the name escapes me, but it was an absolute winner!). The creamy feta spread was the standout, with its tangy, slightly spicy kick perfectly balanced by the richness of the cheese. The meze was served with warm pita bread, which was soft and perfect for dipping. Greek Salad: A classic done right Chicken Skewers: The chicken was grilled to perfection—tender, juicy, and infused with a smoky, charred flavor. Lamb with Oven-Roasted Potatoes: This dish was the highlight of the evening. The lamb was incredibly tender, cooked to perfection with a slight crust on the outside, and bursting with Mediterranean spices. The oven-roasted potatoes were soft, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—a comforting accompaniment to the lamb.
I’ll definitely be back for another helping of that unforgettable feta spread and lamb! Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Greek cuisine with a...
Read moreSimply amazing! I grew up with Greek families. So while traveling for work, I've tried Greek food in Chicago, Detroit, Sydney, Melbourne, and yes...Athens and Thessaloniki. Alexander's meets or beats the best of them. Service is fast and friendly too, Nicole is a joy. She is friendly & attentive without hovering. We're thrilled that this restaurant opened in Fountain Hills, it's one of our regular places!
On our first visit we started with the excellent saganaki - "Opa!" Then we both enjoyed the tasty AGK salads, followed by Pork Brizola for me (HUGE portions!) and 2 beef and 1 lamb skewers for Dawn. We both loved our main dishes and the Kennebec hand cut fries. We finished with the best Galaktoboreko I've ever tasted. The wine selection is good & includes some top Greek wines, and I love all three Greek beers.
Photos are from a followup visit where we grazed on the excellent fries and a couple of the very tasty salads. Oh, and finished off with a snifter of Greece's magical Metexa.
Follow Up: Two years after opening, it only gets better. We’ve come with friends for their anniversary, and then for our own anniversary. Everything was delicious and service was perfect. Dropped in for a light Saturday dinner and tried the Lagonisi fries as a starter. WOW! Delicious! Definitely give them a try. The sauce and cheese were like nothing we’ve ever...
Read moreWe've had the opportunity to eat here a few times and this is the first time I've remembered to review it. I need to apologize for that, because this food is amazing and this place deserves your business! This trip - The waiter was polite and helpful. He seemed COMPLETELY thrown off that people have allergies - and that he had two tables in a row with allergen questions. He seemed surprised that it was possible to be allergic to egg and not be a vegan. It's 2025 and I was thrown off with his reaction. We've eaten a few different things here and have enjoyed everything we've order. This last trip we ordered the Saganaki (which is SO good), dolmades (cold, because their lemon stuff on the warm ones have egg), and the hubs ordered a link of something that he really enjoyed (pork? I don't remember). We went for an early dinner and they weren't very busy. But, honestly, they DESERVE to be!!! They've got an outdoor patio that overlooks the fountain and park. It's on the east side of the building so doesn't get direct sun and it's a lovely place to be - whether permitting, of course. The entrance to the parking lot is behind the building, accessible from Saguaro or Parkview and there is LOADS of parking. You really need to stop reading this and just go! Thank you for...
