This was absolutely perfect! I loved it here, the atmosphere was so lovely, the decor fit the vibe (it was decorated throughout, in fact the bathroom was even decorated), the food was yummy and homemade, and the tea was endless!
I went with my best friend and her mom, and we each tried a couple of the teas. We ended up mixing some of them together, just for science, and they all worked together SO well. We didn't have a single dud, even after mixing them, so I don't know if we just chose exceptionally well, or if each tea here is selected because it complements the other teas, but it was a win.
The sandwiches had a nice amount of filling (we could taste it!!), and we all loved every single one. I don't love cucumber sandwiches, so I went in with no expectations of that one, and it was absolutely by far the best cucumber sandwich I have ever had. I loved it. I don't know what they do differently, but it's something. There's an extra flavor to it that makes it come together in such an unexpected perfect way. And the croissant sandwich with the chicken filling is so good, but so curious, because there's an element of crunch on there that makes it so perfectly balanced, but I don't remember what she said the crunch is (it's almost like apple or water chestnut- really light, but really nice).
I should rewind... when we arrived we got to choose our fun hats and tea sets, which we all loved, that's a fun addition to tea. Then we sat at the perfectly dressed table, and chose our teas. We got our first round of endless tea, and ice waters, very soon afterward, followed by the tower of food. When it arrived, the owner took us through each item and explained what it was (xyz sandwich on rye, orange cake with xyz icing and sprinkles etc.) I really enjoyed that, because that's actually how it is in England, and it gives the service a personal touch that makes you feel like you're truly a guest here.
Oh, and the scones are actually scones, the cherry preserves had whole cherries, and tasted incredible, and the Devonshire cream was actually Devonshire cream.
10/10 absolutely will be back here, and would recommend it to anyone interested in tea. We sat in the main dining room, which is what we preferred, but there are also small parlors available (gorgeously decorated btw) for a more...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat a beautiful hidden gem this place is. I reserved a table for 7 ladies for my mom's 90th Birthday Tea Party recently. We all absolutely loved this adorable and exquisite tea room. We were in awe fun the moment we walked in. Maria greeted us and made us feel comfortable and had us pick out our own gorgeous little tea cup and tea pot. Then she sat us all and explained everything, including the different tea flavors we could have and explained what we were served for our lunch. There were several different finger sandwiches, and other delictable scrumptious items including English scones with jelly and cream. Oh and we certainly can't forget the delectable deserts, wow, sooo yummy! To make the special event even more fun, we all wore tea dresses and tea hats. They did have extra hats for people to wear if they wanted as well. My mom opened her presents and had such a wonderful time. Sherry the owner was there and wished my mom a Happy Birthday. We all told her what a beautiful place she had and that we were having a wonderful time. As we were about to leave, Maria presented my mom with a pretty broach pin in the shape of a gold crown. My mom was so surprised and loved the gift. She had a few tears in her eyes and told me that she felt so loved and happy! Thank you Sherry, Maria and staff for making my mom's 90th Birthday such a wonderful event. We will definitely...
ย ย ย Read moreWe had a reservation for a Saturday morning in May of 2022. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but there were some things that could have been better.
With it being our first visit, we were expecting to get some more information about all of the elements included in the experience. Upon entering, we were immediately shown to our table, though it seemed like other parties were told there was themed hats available to wear. Then, when our food tray did come out, we weren't told what the items were until that same server came back and explained them a good 5 minutes later. It seemed like a lot of bigger groups had better service and attention. And even though there was unlimited tea included, we had to try to get one of the several wait staff over for a refill a few times.
The teas and finger foods were yummy. Some of the desserts seemed store bought and then some sandwiches were fairly plain - all still tasty however. Overall, we went for the ambiance, but expected there could be better food options. Luckily, there was plenty to fill up on for the price and a fairly wide selection of tea.
Also, the gift shop has some questionable merchandise which detracted from the theme. Ideally, I'd prefer to be immersed into an English afternoon tea experience free from political and...
