McDonald's — Restaurant in Fountain Valley

Today my mom bought mcdonalds for me and my grandma. My grandma and I went to go pick it up, and i thought we got everything once i picked it up. I checked the bag not the reciept because I thought that's everything we got, even though my mom usually gets me a happy meal. When i got home, my mom exclaimed "you drank all that already!?" referring to my smoothie and i replied with, "yes, i ate everything" and my mom THEN replied with "All 6 of your nuggets?!" and I was confused because there was only 2 10 piece chicken nuggets. She then asked if i got the happy meal, which i said "What happy meal? " She then told me to go back and she called my grandma back. She did call and the lady said she needs to check the cameras and to come back tomorrow morning my happy meal would probably be moldy. My grandma and I then came back, and I walked in and there was no line in the mobile pick up area. I then explained to the lady everything. It was the same lady who was on call with my mom and she said "whoever just called idk what else she said, she needs to go see a speech therapist with that slurred speech". I also then explained what my mom says to me then she said "what else can I do for you" which knowing my 12 yes, im 12 year old self, I said "give me my happy meal." She then went on another rant how she needs to check the cameras and how she asked her crew where she then said they gave it to me. I remember the dude who gave it to me, which he said, "that should be it" which as i said, i thought that was everything. Obviously im young and almost a teen, I watch tiktok a lot with those karen videos, yes ik this has nothing to do with this. I didn't want to be a karen and scream at her i did since obviously it was in public, and it was during the lunch rush so there were lots of kids and people. I then had to explain to her again which she said she doesnt know what to do, like u know what to do?! I also said she can give me my happy meal or a refund. I know it is just a happy meal and I do sound like a karen but I at least want my moneys because those nuggets can be left overs. I love mcdonalds but honestly IMO, this is js unacceptable. Also, sorry if this doesn't make sense, I also sound like an attention seeker or smth but its js my ADHD, i tend to forget things but when i explain/write abt what happened, i remember parts. Ugh! Once again I'm just amazed that a mega chain like McDonald's can rate so low on Yelp - and I'm always willing to give the benefit of a doubt - only to find out that the 1 1/2 stars is warranted.

I stopped here for a super quick late lunch - to take 'to-go'. I placed my mobile order, and when I arrived was glad I did because the drive-thru line was crazy long and wasn't moving much.

I parked in spot #1 and let them know I was there. Then I just sat, and waited and waited and waited and waited! Then I started to regret that I hadn't gone through the drive-thru line because obviously priority was given tho them.

I finally decided to do them a solid, and I got out of my car to go inside to get my order. The entire kitchen and staff were scrambling to fill the drive-thru orders, and I just stood there waiting for help. One of the staff in the lobby finally asked what I was waiting on, and I showed her my order number.

I'm guessing it was the manager who finally pulled my very simple order - a cheeseburger and small fry - no special requests on either one of them - so there was really no reason I should have waited so long. The manager just kept apologizing as she was finally gathering my order then she mentioned that she upsized my fries from small to medium. I guess I'll add one extra star for the effort.

But what a mess - and let me just note that it wasn't even the lunch rush hour - it was after 2pm.

So my takeaway is - even though the drive-thru looks backed up, just jump in the line and wait it out - most likely it'll be...

I almost never take the time to stop at this McDonalds. They never get my order right and it seems pretty simple. If you go inside to try to correct it they throw the blame on you. For example, I ordered a large fry no salt as part of my meal.

Normally I'm asked to wait a few extra minutes because they're making them fresh. Not today, they came right out with my meal pretty quickly.

So of course now I had to park my car bring my soggy cold fries that they refried for a second to get the salt off of the previously made fries.

I went through the drive-thru so I wouldn't have to get out of my car because I have my children with me, I had to go inside anyways just to get an argument about my cold soggy fries.

This location also will not alter any promotional offers periods so if you want the 2 for $5 oh, no matter how much you're willing to pay extra for Canadian bacon they will not put it on the sandwich for you. They will make you pay for a totally different sandwich which is way more expensive.

I completely understand that this is McDonald's and not Burger King so sometimes I feel like I guess I can't have it my way, but if I'm willing to pay extra then please go ahead and do what I'm asking, don't ruin my entire day by ruining a...
