Bamboo Wok — Restaurant in Four Corners

We decided to try this one only because it is so close to home. I had high hopes, Upon entering it was much like the other Oriental takeout place we have been to, with a few tables and a similar menu. The gentleman behind the counter was ambivalent and not very helpful. As I placed our order I had a question about what came in the one dish and he flipped over the menu and pointed to a stock picture. I asked if they could make it extra hot and he acted like he did not understand. We paid and waited for our order. They had a good sized staff working the kitchen and he assisted when no one was at the counter or on the phone. The food came out quickly and we took it home.

My kids had the sweet and sour chicken with some pork egg rolls. The sweet and sour was much like any place else we have had it but the egg rolls were fairly bland. I had the szechuan chicken and was not impressed. The peppers and onion were bigger pieces than I prefer but easy to cut down. The portion size was good and it looked good. What it was lacking was flavor which is sad because there was so much of the peppers and onions along with a few tiny pieces of carrot. The other problem was that I expected some kind of heat from it and was totally disappointed. I asked for extra spicy and it tasted like they went completely the other way. I added a packet each of their soy sauce, duck sauce and hot sauce and it did not really help. The plain white rice had more flavor. By the way, they made perfect white rice. The third star is for the rice.

Heating up some of the leftovers in the morning I added a good helpling of hot sauce from a bottle plus some other seasoning. This is not what I am used to and I will be content to drive the extra distance for quality food and friendly customer service.

Attention: If you are from the Northeast and you’re in the mood for some AWESOME Chinese Food then go no further! The food here is PERFECT & delicious and will bring you back home….The General Tso’s Chicken is my favorite and is a 10.0 the Krab Rangoons are crispy and good! The Eggrolls are great, all the appetizers & meals are just like you would expect them to be!! The food is fresh, plentiful and will still be piping hot when you get back home if you takeout… I am so happy I found this place and I hope this brings him more business so he never leaves Davenport! I crave it move and more every-time I go there…I want to try all the dishes! You will not be let down, unless something is wrong with you! My opinion is my opinion and I feel very strongly and comfortable saying this is the best Chinese cuisine anywhere in the area and further! The owners and staff are very hard working and I can see that they want to serve as many people as possible, so do not judge their fast action and quick order taking! I am a BIG supporter and love when I get the chance to eat here, Bamboo Wok makes me feel like I’m back in the Northeast eating real Chinese cuisine!!! This place take me home to where Chinese Food is the best!! So Thank you for your service and great food Bamboo Wok! I appreciate you!! Can’t wait...

Edit: Still amazing. Staff hasn't changed and the food is still fantastic. Will continue to visit. Lunch special ends at 330 pm. For quite inexpensive you get a nice selection of foods to choose from not to mention a free canned drink.

I have been going here for almost fifteen years. Staff is fantastic and friendly. Orders are always made right and quickly. Restrooms are clean and they recently remodeled the entire building. food is excellent and they are always willing to accommodate personal tastes. They have excellent pork or chicken fried and white rice. The lo mein is fantastic as well. It slaps which are necessary at a Chinese spot. Sweet and sour chicken (pork) is also exceptional. Spare ribs, garlic chicken, honey chicken, orange chicken, general tso all all bangers and highly recommend. Egg rolls are a must add to any meal. I also highly recommend the crab rangoons. Dipping those in the sweet and sour sauce is just out of this world. The dumplings are fantastic as well. They're available both fried and steamed, although the fried are much better to me. With the fantastic soy sauce. Fries and chicken wings are good if you're looking to stay traditional. 😂 I would recommend anyone who enjoy new york style chinese give this place a shot. A++
