The food here is definitely above average - but it is also extremely overpriced. Charging $46 for a 10oz skirt steak (churasco, even as tender as it was) is absolutely insane - I can easily go to a local butcher and get the same cut i had and prepare it myself for 1/3 the price for a full pound or more. And the chimichurring it came with was underseasoned and tasteless. The best part of my meal was the Ceviche appetizer, but even it was over priced, and the waitress and/or kitchen staff sort of took issue when I requested to replace the yuca chips the ceviche typically comes with for a set of 3 tostobes. The waitress also didn't seem to know the menu very well, because my date ordered a vegetarian dish that was supposed to come with tostones, but when her main course came out no tostones were included, and when she asked the person that brought the food out (not our waitress), he told her that tostones were not a part of her meal. So there's also no continuity with the servers. The bar also severely underpoured my cocktail (Old Fashion), it should taken a lot more than 3 small sips, especially at the $19 Top Helf price it charged me for the 1 shot of Makers Mark it was supposed to contain.
The place was also extremely loud, even when sitting in the side room, away from the main entertainment area. And the singers and entertainers on 3 separation disregarded my requests not to bring their formed Conga Line through the side room, making it impossible for my date and I to maintain out conversation. If we had wanted to be part of the entertainment, we would have requested to sit close to it, and not DELIBERATELY asked to be sat away from it. The music was good for setting a tone and ambiance, but it shouldn't have been shoved down our throats, especially when we chose to be seated as far from it as possible.
To further displease me, I actually had to get up and walk to the front to ask for our check, because our waitress completely inattentive (on top of not knowing the menu), and it was brought a few minutes later by someone from the front-end staff or management, not a member of the waitstaff, so again no continuity.
Did I still leave the waitress a good tip though; yes; because I know how difficult doing her job can be.
Now I know the menu is likely priced as high as it is, because of Gloria Estefan being the owner, and the commercial space price likely being inflated because of her celebrity status (being able to afford it). But $180 (with tip) for an upscale casual dining experience for 2 is a bit much, especially with as many issues I encountered.
Really - I write a scathing review and all I get from.management is an attempted justification for the high prices, lack of quantity (of both food and of liquor in my drink), the overpricing of both, and the quality of service provided. The response is get correlates to a surgeon telling a gunshot victim " I was able to extract the bullet but wasn't able to stop the bleeding fast enough, therefore we had to amputate your leg from the knee down. But we're evaluating our response times, our trauma room personnel and procedures, so hopefully we won't have the need to perform more amputation in the future."...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and all they said was that the food was really good. I went on Saturday February 15 (Valentine weekend). There was an event going on outside and all the outdoor seating seemed to be the popular option that day. Weather was perfect. As we walked in, there was a stage with live music playing and more seats available compared to the outside so we decided to sit inside. The host/employee gave my gf a rose before walking us to our table. I noticed later they were giving all the females a rose which is a nice touch. Not sure if they only did this for Valentine’s Day weekend or they do it all the time but it was a nice gesture. We sat down and were handed the regular menu along with a Valentine’s Day special menu. There was a NY strip steak on there I was tempted to get but was $50 with a side of mash potatoes so decide to pass on that due to the price. Coincidentally, we went during happy hour where they had BOGO cocktails that looked good but we don’t drink so we ended up getting a mock-tail mojito and a lemonade. Both were delicious and refreshing. While we waited for our appetizers, a lady came by our table to take our picture and later came back with 4 different options for us to choose from. We ended up buying one for $20. We got the empanada x3 (1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 pork) and croquetas (pictured) and both had me craving more! They were SO good and flavorful! Not sure if it was the chef himself but him and another lady dropped off the appetizers. The guy (who I think was chef) recommended each empanada with a specific sauce which is what made it taste even better! Both appetizers were filled generously with meat. I HIGHLY recommend both. Our entrees were the Cubano chino and the breaded chicken. Both were delicious. It was a GOOD amount of food and we had leftovers. If you want some bang for your money, the breaded chicken is a LOT of chicken. The cubano chino is basically their Cuban twist on Chinese fried rice. It was a tiny bit salty but overall was REALLY good. Both very filling. We got the chocolate tres leches on their Valentine’s Day menu and it was the perfect amount of sweetness to complete our full range of taste buds. The service was on point! Our waitress was very attentive and the food came out pretty fast! When we asked for the box and check, she even transferred the food into the boxes for us. Overall, the food, service, atmosphere, and music was 5 stars. The live music took a break and came back to play covers to popular fun and upbeat music. They even did a small Conga line around the restaurant one time. HIGHLY recommend this place at least once. Thanks for reading...
Read moreI had an absolutely amazing time at Estefan Kitchen! I booked it through OpenTable for a friend’s birthday celebration, and at first, after reading some mixed reviews, I wasn’t sure if I had made the right choice. But let me tell you—it exceeded all expectations!
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric. The live music and singers kept us engaged the entire time, making the night feel like a true celebration. But what really stood out was the dance floor!
One of the best parts of the night was seeing everyone on the dance floor—kids, parents, grandparents, and couples. It’s an environment where everyone can have fun, not just adults looking for late-night entertainment. I loved that we weren’t just sitting and eating; we were dancing, laughing, and fully enjoying the experience. My friends and I danced nonstop, and for a restaurant to keep guests that engaged from the moment they walk in is truly amazing.
Now, let’s talk about the food! I ordered:
BACON WRAPPED SWEET PLANTAINS – Sweet, savory, and absolutely delicious.
BREADED CHICKEN BREAST A LA MILANESA with white rice and beans – I had read some mixed reviews, but I’m so glad I ordered it! The portion was huge, and the flavors were great. I could only eat half, but it was totally worth it.
N/A DAIQUIRIS (Strawberry) – I had a couple, and they were awesome!
On top of the incredible atmosphere, the service was fantastic. Our waiter was super attentive, helping us navigate the menu and offering great recommendations. She made sure we had everything we needed and added to the overall amazing experience.
She gave a tip if you're taking the BREADED CHICKEN BREAST A LA MILANESA home. Put it in the air fryer for a few minutes & you will love it. 😊 🙌
The best part? The prices were very reasonable for what you get. My entire meal—two mocktails, an appetizer, and an entrée—came to just over $60. Definitely a great value!
The restaurant is also in a great location. We went for a 7 PM reservation and loved walking around afterward. The area has a lively vibe, and there’s even a Cold Stone nearby if you want to grab some ice cream to finish off the night!
The Only Downside? Parking
If I had to mention one downside, it would be parking, especially on a Friday night. It was a bit of a challenge since the area is so popular, but honestly, that just speaks to how great the location is.
Overall, I highly recommend Estefan Kitchen for a fun, lively, and delicious dining experience. If you’re looking for great food, live entertainment, dancing, and a fantastic atmosphere, this is the...
