The place is beautiful, fun with live music and with the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant. That being said, this place has fallen victim to the high food cost and staffing shortages. The server we had was also the bar tender so she was really too busy to give the proper attention, little things like drink refills, clearing plates, etc. while the food was quick to come out of the kitchen, to me, quality is sacrificed for speed. We started with the trio seafood platter, combination of oysters on the half shelf, poached shrimp and snow crab claws. While fresh and tasty, I felt they were very over priced, $55 for 4 moderately sized oysters, 4 snow crab claws and 4 13-15 size shrimp. The entrees were also quick to come out of the kitchen, I ordered the fisherman platter, which was seared grouper, fried oysters, pan seared scallops and boiled shrimp. My wife had the grouper with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach and my son had Mac and cheese. The trouble started with the fact that really none of the food was as hot as I thought it should be, second thing we both noticed was that all the cooked seafood seamed like it had been cooked then held warm for a long time, fish gets a very specific look and good after it’s cooked and then is held for a long time, and unfortunately it was the case for both me and my wife. The grouper was dry and crusty, my shrimp was cold, the oysters were dark brown and shriveled up and the scallops while properly cooked were barely warm. The only really hot items were my sons Mac and cheese and the fries I had. Now, $40 for my entree and $30 for my wife’s, if it was actually cooked to order no problem, but for what we got not worth it. I did ask to speak to the manager, it took time to get him, busy night, and explained the situation to him, he offered to re-fire everything and I said no, no point if they don’t cook to order. At the end of the night 175$ check, manager offered a free desert and gave a $15 discount....
Read moreOur server was great. Very engaged and personable. Always checked on us and made sure refills were taken care of.
The food was disappointing. I noticed an increase in cost from last year but a stark decrease in quality and taste. I'm hoping it was just an off day because we've come here the last few years when in town, and it's been great.
The happy hour pricing on appetizers was good and seemed reasonable with the amount provided. However, the calamari appetizer was not worth it at all. $17 for a tiny plate that was filled with more fried peppers and another item than actual calamari. Even if it was offered at the happy hour discounted price, it would not be worth it. The little bit of calamari there was was very bland.
The happy hour shrimp pasta was a decent value. It is a smaller bowl with buttered pasta (unfortunately quite bland), but the amount of shrimp you get was impressive, especially for the price and it being a happy hour special.
The pesto pasta was very salty, and the added grilled chicken was bland. However, it was only $4 to add a chicken breast, which was a good price, and you get a good-sized piece of chicken.
Our kids loved the jambalaya pasta. They said it tasted great.
The catfish bites were great. Great flavor and quantity to value for the happy hour pricing was good.
Be aware there is a 1% fee added to your bill, a Sunset Walk Fee.
The live music is always good here, though be aware if you go later in the evening it can be quite noisy. If you're ok with that, you'll enjoy it, but if you want to carry on a conversation, you may wish to sit outside.
Overall, I'd still recommend this place based on all previous experiences as every restaurant can have an off day. When they do the dueling pianos, it is a great place for entertainment. The service and atmosphere have always...

Summary: Manager forced me to feed my 2 year old that requires a special diet due to severe allergies outside the premises of restaurant (on bench) even after explaining severity of requirements and knowing they can't provide the food accommodations.
We chose the Wharf for dinner based on google ratings. After looking at their menu, we decided that its best if we bring food for my son. He has severe allergies to wheat, peanuts, dairy, and egg. It is difficult to find any restaurant that can cater to his special dietary needs, so we must prepare and plan his meals ahead of time.
We were seated and while we waited for our drinks, we began to feed our son with food we brought specifically for his dietary needs. The manager came over and told me, “no outside food is permitted” and “it’s a safety concern if people get sick in our restaurant from outside food”. We informed the manager that my son has severe allergies and that his menu doesn’t provide for his needs. He asked what the needs are, and we informed him we must avoid all traces of wheat, peanuts, dairy, and eggs. He then states they can “try”, but outside food is not permitted and I’d have to feed him outside the premises. He didn’t leave the table until I packed up the food and walked outside.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a severe food allergy is a disability as it substantially limits major life activities. He provided zero accommodations nor understanding of this. I was forced to feed my toddler on the bench of sunset walk outside the restaurant while other customers just watched. I felt saddened by the lack of remorse and disrespect shown by this individual towards another human and am vowing to never return to this...
