Everything about this place I want to say I loved. Now to be more specific there is nothing I hated or disliked but I will say me coming from a different part of the US and having food prepared or made slightly differently than what I'm used to. I'll explain:
Many many things on the menu seem to come with a spice or kick of some sort. I love it, but my wife can't handle even the slightest, but just to let you know ahead of time.
Fried Devil Eggs, I absolutely love deviled eggs, but this was not something I was expecting. My wife on the other hand liked them a lot. Crispy deep fried on the outside, the egg of course was hot on the inside, mixture on top had lots of seasoning and a piece of bacon. Places I'm used to on the West Coast our deviled eggs are cold or room temperature. Nothing wrong just a preference.
Loaded hush puppies , are basically the hush puppy batter and loaded potatoes on the inside and the give you a Jalapeno lime sauce for them (more kick than normal). I personally didn't care for their mashed potatoes so having them inside a hush puppy made them, umm different to me. Again it was meh to me but my wife adores it (without the sauce).
Bison meat loaf. This to me was a win win. Love bison and meatloaf. Now what threw me off is that it's wrapped in bacon and almost looked like filet mignon to me at first. Btw the bacon has a kick (didn't know till first bite), and maybe the BBQ sauce also. Under the meat were really soft spinach which was great and then the red skin mashed potatoes and gravy (very light taste for a brown gravy). For me it was all great except for the mash potatoes. Honestly still have that as leftovers in the fridge at time of writing this.
Wife had chicken Parmesan, no issues or complaints there. That went down yummy and good. Our server even recommended mixing the marinara with Alfredo sauce for a slightly different taste which we liked.
Service, was incredible. Our waitress was very attentive talked to us when she had a chance answering all questions about the types of food, how it was prepared and what was in it. Helped with advice for things to see in the area. We ordered our drinks and it seems almost as soon as she walked away someone brought out drinks. I don't know if they were eavesdropping or just great teamwork.
They have a wide variety on their menu with so many different things to try. Some not the traditional way but with their own spin. They also have an outside covered patio with a fire pit which was great.
Would definitely recommend for people to go to and just say keep an open mind if your not from the area as to how they cook things differently from your own part of the world
Oh almost forgot. The men's bathroom. Upon walking in the bathroom looks very nice and decorative. Though the largest stall at the end for the handicap is completely missing the door. So if someone needs to handle their business, everyone can see what they are doing. A point that needs to be fixed, oh and the dead bug that is stuck or burnt in the light socket on the wall. It looks like it's greeting you. Didn't want to include pictures of that sorry, it take my word for it, he's there or was there. Same with...
Read moreI am coming before you today with no photos ( turkey dinner photos, incoming.!) which is unusual for me, because I like to document everything.. with an issue that is so important that I thought you needed to know. Anybody would tell you that I am in love with this place, Lazy dog, their food, their clubs,Their service. I have loved everything I have ever gotten here. We belong to the campfire club and the beer club. Both are paid memberships, and so specifically today I am speaking to the campfire club which offers you a free appetizer or frozen dinner each month. We usually go there for the appetizer and a meal. But, we got the frozen dinners this month because of some conflicts in our schedules. My wife was not here to cook for me today and I pulled the barbecue meatloaf dinner out of the freezer and in 30 minutes in the toaster oven had a hot, Hardy, huge delicious dinner. Ready to go! excellent. Barbecue meatloaf, excellent. Redskin mashed potatoes and gravy, excellent. Onion tangles, excellent. Mixed vegetables excellent. But here we get to the kicker, an ultra delicious peanut butter fudge brownie with crispy edges, ooey gooey center included on the tray for dessert. It was so sticky and excellent. It almost needed four tongues to lick the spoon I ate it with.! Even if you had to buy this, it is in a total different class than anything. You can buy at a grocery store. We have also had the chicken pot pies, which were great and I have a turkey dressing and potatoes frozen meal for tomorrow in the freezer. Even if you needed to buy these without being a member of the club, they're only $10. So stop in to a lazy dog restaurant have a drink, have a appetizer or dinner? And by all means, take a frozen dinner home. Do yourself a favor and join the beer club and the campfire club. The beer club also gives you a free 8 pack of their themed to the season, beers four times a year and they are 8 x sixteen ounces of deliciousness, the three beer sampler once a month and a free upgrade to the taller size when you buy beers. Sorry, there is no pictures of this dinner, I know my fans look forward to that. But this was scarfed down and eaten so fast because of it's deliciousness. There was no time for a picture. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.I promise you! Update!!!!!!!! Aug 28th 2025 I promised you and I delivered. Here are pictures of the Turkey mashed potatoes and dressing dinner. Both before being cooked and after. How many times have you bought a frozen dinner? only to have it be so disappointing coming out of the box and once it's cooked.? Not the case here, this looks exactly like the picture on the box and the deliciousness is unrivaled by any frozen dinner I have ever eaten. This one finished off with a apple huckleberry cake, baked right in the aluminum old time tray, crispy cakey, the perfect fruit and cake blend to top off this festive holiday style dinner. Get out there and get one of these dinners, give them a try, Do stop in and have a meal on-site and Take a frozen meal or two home. Don't forget to join the beer club and the campfire club for really special offerings To...
Read moreWent for dinner here, last evening, based on reviews and recommendations from some people we know. Apparently, it was an off night. They were out of pot pie (the precise reason my spouse wanted to dine here) but hey, that happens. My spouse chose a bison burger, and I ordered the fried chicken dinner. We had a small plate (sweet potato tots) as an appetizer. My spouse ordered wine, I stuck with unsweetened iced tea. We were told it would be a 30 - 45 minute wait, and were given a pager. We ordered drinks (aforementioned) at the bar and waited (quite a bit less than 30 minutes) for our page. We'd requested a table with chairs, but were given a booth. Should have refused, as the chair is not an idle request, but chose to see if I could manage the booth. (I did, but was uncomfortable about 1/3 of the way into the dinner). The server was friendly, and had good knowledge of the menu (all but for telling my spouse they had pot pies... had to return and say they were out). So, the bison burger was undercooked. The fries with it were coated in some sort of seasoning. Not bad, but not necessary. They were hot, so points for that. My fried chicken had been sitting and suffered for it. It was tepid and the potatoes (mash, comes with it) and the tiny pot of cream gravy were very unappealing. The potatoes were a solid mass and all came up with the fork at the first attempt at a bite. When the server returned, I did say that the food was cold, but that was the beginning and end of it. I did as for a refill on the iced tea (originally obtained at the bar). It was VERY loud which made conversation a challenge. There was a shrieking child. That didn't help. We picked at our plates, and finally asked for to go containers. The food tasted ok, but nothing outstanding. We were brought cardboard style containers, and our bill. When I saw that the iced tea was not a refill, but that I'd been charged for it, I asked for a to go cup, also. I incorrectly assumed that since I brought my iced tea from the bar to the table, that it would be refilled without charge, as is customary in so many other places. The server ended up having to replace the to go food containers with plastic ones that would seal, as the three of us could not get the cardboard ones to close. They'd better stock up on the plastic ones. We may visit again, but...
