Mi Fiesta Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfort

July 29th, 2023 They have a waitress there that is terrible. I hate every time I get her. You'll be sitting there waiting for her to come out so that you can order more chips and salsa or get a refill, and you just never see her again. Anyway, that's not what this review is about. I ordered off the menu. Quesadilla. As per the menu, quesadilla, tortilla shell, Monterey Jack cheese, peppers and onions, and your choice of chicken steak ground beef or spinach. So, when I got my food and it was a tortilla shell with cheese and ground beef, I said, "This isn't what I ordered." I mean, I said that after waiting 15 minutes and asking another waitress to retrieve my waitress, the short-haired girl. She looked at me stupid and said our ground beef doesn't come with peppers and onions, to which I said, "Well, that's not what the menu says!" She said to me, " what do I wanted her to do about it; have peppers and onions brought out or have a new one made." I told her that I didn't appreciate her attitude and that I wasn't paying for that and that I would be leaving. I told her to bring me my bill for my sweet tea and my dog's chicken breast. She charged me nine dollars for a grilled chicken breast. Whatever, cool. However, my sweet tea rang up as an imported beer to the tune of about 9/10 dollars. I called the manager out to fix it, and he seemed like he was about to have an attitude, too, but he never stepped over the line. Maybe they were having a bad day, but that waitress...

So first off, this place is really more of a 2 star, but I'm giving it a 1 star because its current 4.5 star rating is misleading and undeserved. If you come here expecting a 4.5 star food experience, you will be sorely disappointed. If you come here expecting a 3 star experience, then you'll probably be somewhat satisfied.

The chips and salsa were delicious and refreshing... That's the only praise they earned.

The spicy chicken burrito was... adequate... 3 star Mexican as you might expect from some place in the middle of Kentucky, far from Latinx culture centers of the US.

The beef burrito was... Deplorable... Insultingly laughable even... -1 star Mexican as you might expect from a highway truck stop intersection deep in the American heartland with no civilization or culinary standards around it. In fact, I would liken the beef to textured water rather than food you would actually pay money to consume. I literally poured the chip salsa on it to try and make it salvageable.

If you must come here or if you don't care about flavor, then feel free to visit... just avoid the...

I've been here many times. The food has always been okay. I went today and ordered a taco salad. There was more chicken than salad, and it was so wet that it made the lettuce soggy. That's not even the part I'm upset about when I told the owner about my concern about the salad he said it'll always he soggy and explaining to it to me like I was a child what they put on the salads (like I don't already know). He kept talking over me. Talked to me disrespectful and was very upset with me because I didn't like food. It almost felt like he was making me feel bad for not enjoying my meal. The lady that I brought my food to did the same thing. She talked to me condescending and kept arguing with me. They didn't want to remake it because it would be the same texture every time "wet."She was raising her voice at me. I am baffled by how I was treated..
