The two-story museum contains a wide variety of stuff from early Frankfort history until relatively recent times.

I enjoyed touring the Capital City Museum on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. It contains many interesting exhibits.

The museum contains a replica of Dr. E.E. Hume's office as it was when William Goebel was brought there after being shot.

Some hollow wooden logs that served as part of an early water system for Frankfort are also in the museum.

Seeing the items listed earlier, as well as a large copper ball that was formerly on the top of the capitol building, fishing reels manufactured by a well known Frankfort company, and many other items made the tour well worth the hour or so I devoted to it.

There is no charge for admission, but receptacles are there for persons desiring to make a donation.

A small gift shop in the front of the museum near the entrance offers several books for sale.

I strongly urge persons living in or visiting Frankfort seek to take time to tour this museum. It is conveniently located in...

After touring the Kentucky State Capitol Building, we were talking to the ladies at the information desk and they recommended this lovely museum filled with historical artifacts. They gave me a brochure with the address and it was very easy to locate. The parking lot beside the museum was free.

Inside the front door, the lady at the desk gave us a brief run down of the layout of the two floors. There was a lot of Historical memorabilia to look at and read about. Explore more than 200 yrs of politics, architecture, enterprise and everyday life in Frankfort. It has lots of old photographs to check out.

Open Mon thru Friday 10am to 4pm. Free admission but they do accept donations. The Capitol Hotel used to be on this spot but burnt down in...

This 20th Anniversary Celebration was an absolutely wonderful event. We attend many and this was special. The setting at Castle and Key is truly unique and was beautifully decorated. The hostessing was very attentive. The details and side items were creative and fun. The food and the flow of the buffet serving was well done. We love the bluegrass music and it came at the right time, during dessert, and after, as earlier makes it hard to converse at the table. The crowd was very interactive and engaging. A perfect night under a magical late fall super-moon, which escorted us on the way out.
