Terrible management by "Josh" !!! Extremely unprofessional! Support staff waiting on us was fantastic! Hostess were rude as well, but I do believe they were acting the way they were on the managements request. Made reservations for a small surprise for a friends bridal shower, 10 -15 people. I asked if we could be seated as this was a surprise for her and I just wanted to put balloons on her chair. I was told no, not until everyone was there. I would usually understand why, but I tried to explain to him what we were doing for a friend. He looked at me and said, we don't do surprises on Saturdays. This man, I soon find out is the Manager "Josh", who was extremely rude. While waiting at the bar he then came over to us and grabbed the small cup cakes that were in front of a friend and snapped at us that we are not allowed to bring outside food in there. He said they would be in the fridge and can get them when we leave. BTW, they don't offer dessert on their menu there... He came over to me about 15-20 minutes after our reservation time and said that if our friends weren't there soon we would no longer have a reservation (remember, we asked to sit to set up for a surprise, the bride was coming in 5 minutes). He said if they weren't there we wouldn't have a seat. Another friend who was bringing the bride to be in came with a tiny personal sized sugar free apple pie (our bride is a diabetic), she didn't hear "the rule". She went up to our waitress and asked her, since they don't have anything for a diabetic, could she possibly just bring this out as a small surprise for the bride. Which she smiled and said absolutely. We went outside with the bride and a few others that were smoking, at that time, "Josh" came out, and started yelling at me in front of other guests and my friends about how he told me there was no outside food allowed. Obviously ruining the surprise for our bride, and ruining the happy moment. There was no professionalism on his end the entire night. After that we went back in to finish up and pay the bill. "Josh" walked behind me and I asked him his name and who his manager is. He said his name and said that he is the manager, I asked who is higher up than him and he said no one. He then came around to the front of our table and started pointing his finger at me and started yelling about how we only went in there to pick a fight. This is in front of the entire hibachi restaurant full of people. I then obviously got upset. This was by far the worst that any of my friends and I have ever been treated. Support staff kept coming up to us and apologizing for his personality. Saying that most of their bad reviews online are due to his poor attitude and how he treats everyone. This is sad how this guy can still be working there. After paying the bill, my friend who brought the cupcakes went to go get them from the front ("Josh" said they would not bring them to us, we had to get them when we walked out the door), the hostess asked her if she was leaving and she said yes, the hostess then replied that my friend needs to be escorted out once she gets them. I am appalled by this place and their behavior. This is a shame because we have all loved this place in the past. But because of this, we will...
Read moreThis was my first time at this restaurant, for my son's 15th birthday, and I not sure I will ever be back. The food was excellent, but the service was horrible. Our waiter was great, but it is apparent they are short staffed and overwhelmed. We waited an hour and a half before our chef came to cook our food. I understand in today's world a lot of restaurants are short staffed, but then don't book and seat so many people. The worst part was, a young couple sitting next to us, the young man had a food allergy, so they needed to cook his meal in the back kitchen. However, when we all got our meal cooked and served, this poor kid did not have his meal. We were all done and he still didn't have his meal. Our waiter was no where to be found, so I said something to the chef. Finally after about 20 minutes of us being done with our dinner, the waiter came over with his meal to cook on our grill, but our chef had already turned it off and started cleaning it. 10 more minutes went by before the manager finally came over, but just to tell the young man, he was sorry, but the kitchen was now closed and he could not get him his meal. I told the manger it was his fault the order wasn't prepared and they had plenty of grills in the restaurant, to fire one of them up and cook this man's food. It took another half hour, but that's what he did. This poor kid took his meal to go (it was 11:00 p.m. at this point). When I complained about the service, the waiter told us the manager had agreed to buy us all dessert. However, he then came back and said, sorry, he thought you were all together (meaning my party of 6 and the young couple sitting next to us) so he only brought 3 desserts for 4 boys and my niece and I had to share one. It was My son's birthday and he made the boys share a dessert (mind you, we weren't allowed to bring a cake). Everyone at our table should have had free dessert after the disaster of an experience we had. But no, they wanted to nickel and dime us. Our dinner reservation was at 8:30, we left at 11:30 and we left not very happy. Honestly, for an expensive dinner, this manager only cares about the bottom dollar instead of making sure his customers leave happy. Mistakes happen, but it's how you handle them...
Read moreWe came in about an hr and 15 minutes before closing, and asked to sit down for Hibachi. The two people at the front were hesitant at first, and asked us twice if we wanted to sit at a table instead. We said no, we drove over a half an hour for the Hibachi experience, and there was plenty of time. They walked off, then came back a couple times dealing with something else. After speaking to my girlfriend, I asked them if we sat at the table would we still get the Hibachi food without the experience. They said yes, so we went to a table. Right next to the AC, and we were freezing, but it is what it is.
Our food came out FAST! We got two fillet meals, i asked for no vegetables, and they gave me an extra side of rice (if I had known, I wouldnt have ordered the extra side of rice on the side). The duck was AMAZING, and great on cucumbers. The rice, however, tasted almost cold, and it was obvious that it wasnt prepared right then and there by the hibachi chef like we asked. That was the thing that turned us off to the rest of the meal..
The waitress came up to us a bunch of times, and she was pretty rude. I was already not impressed because of the rice being cold, and the fact we had driven all this way and they did not want to seat us for the Hibachi. I have been to dozens of different Hibachi places, I know what rice that is just prepared tastes like. Half way done, she asked us if we wanted to-go containers, which was where me made the decision to take it to go.
We paid the same price we would have if we sat at the Hibachi table, without half of it seeming to be prepared right then and there. Not very impressed at all, and even though this place came highly recommended by lots of other people we know, MY recommendation is to go somewhere else. At the very least, dont go at the end of the night because the staff is...
