Stopped in for breakfast this morning. This is my first time here in a very long time. We were greeted immediately and seated promptly. Our server, Emma, was fantastic! She was friendly and attentive. Super job! The three of us had coffee. Two of us thought it tasted bad enough that we couldn't drink it. My wife noticed they offered a drink with espresso. She asked if they could make her an Americano, two shots of espresso and hot water. She was told that since it wasn't on the menu, they couldn't make it. I spent many years working in restaurants. I would never refuse to make something if I had the ability and time to do so. Times have changed, I suppose. I ordered the Bubba plate with grits. The biscuits here are fantastic. The sausage gravy was bland, almost flavorless. I had to add lots of salt and pepper to it. The grits were almost soup they were so thin. They had been sitting for a while as a skin had formed on them when served. Our server offered to replace them. I decided against that. My wife had the breakfast hash skillet with egg whites. She thoroughly enjoyed her breakfast. Our third had the South Beach and enjoyed it as well. The restaurant is clean, bright, and inviting. I would recommend this restaurant but skip the grits and sausage gravy.

We decided to dine here for breakfast as their breakfast menu seemed to have an extensive selection of choices, big mistake. We were seated promptly but then not waited on for probably 20 minutes even though they’d given eye contact and walked by several times. You’d think they might acknowledge your existence (Welcome to J Christopher’s, will be with you in just a minute~NO!) We were just about to leave when someone finally came to ask what we’d like to drink. Our drinks were cold, supposed to be hot drinks. Had to ask for several things we had ordered as evidently they can’t read what they had written down, and lastly the hollandaise sauce was some of the worst I’ve ever had. Drive a little farther and visit Noshville for breakfast, a 180° experience from this dive.

It’s been a while since we’ve visited J Christopher’s but back in the day it was the spot for a good breakfast. Now there are lots of other places in the area that are really good so I wanted to see how they stack up against the competition. The server was very pleasant and informative and the manager checked on us a couple times which was nice. Those were the positives. Unfortunately for JC’s that was the best part of our breakfast. The food was bland and seemed like it was thrown together Sysco pre-cut meat and veggies with eggs. The atmosphere is cafeteria like with the exception of the paintings on the wall but overall the look hasn’t changed in a long time. The place could use a remodel and better chefs. Overall it was an average breakfast.

When my husband and I walked in and we were told there would be a 35 minute wait, no big deal, it's Saturday morning and everywhere seems to be packed. We sit and patiently wait. Here's where it goes off the rails. A couple comes in behind us and they were told the same wait time. A party of 12 comes in behind them and is told the same 35 minute wait time, however the manager knows several members of this group (he hugs and high fives several members), then proceeds to tell them that he has three booths opening up and two more guests in the corner almost finished and he'll sit them there. Hmm... There are two couples ahead of this group, but the group will be seated first because he knows them? I asked him if they will be seated before us, he says to the two hostess at the front (whom were very nice by the way) "Go to the back, I'll handle this". Whoa... His stance was combative, his tone was combative, unprofessional and totally unnecessary. The answer he gave me for attempting to seat a party of 12 before my husband and I as well as other guest that were waiting was that he was "trying to do what's best for the restaurant ". That didn't seem to be the case. What seems to be "what's best for the restaurant" is to seat the people who were waiting and then seat the large party of his friends after other patrons were seated and space became available. They were his friends, they weren't going to leave if they had to wait. I'm sure in his mind our piddly $30 didn't compare to a large party, but keeping customers happy keeps them coming back. At this point, I'd recommend just going to First Watch, their Kale Tonic...

Local review incoming! Went for Sunday brunch around 11, and was quoted a 20 minute wait time. Perfect, we thought… We then proceeded to come inside after waiting in our car for about 15 minutes thinking we must be close. We stood inside and watched the madness ensue.

I’d say there were about 10 FOH staff members, which didn’t seem like it was understaffed considering the space isn’t that big. We watched countless people attempt at “bussing” tables, but really they just seemed like they were stacking things up as slowly as possible and then would walk away with nothing so the tables stayed dirty.

Coming from the industry and seeing this was a literally driving me crazy! Not to mention there was no silverware and multiple employees standing just looking around or in their phones watching their guests hope they can get seated soon as we all had been looking at each other with hungry sad eyes. We finally get sat after waiting about 45 minutes, and then sat for another 10 minutes before our server, who I noticed was the only one in there that seemed like she was hustling apologized for the wait. At this point we were just wanting to get our food and get out. The server got our drinks right away and came back to take our order and we waited another 30 minutes for the pantry feast and French toast to come out. It was all pretty much cold or Luke-warm except for the crunch cakes came out fresh, Thank God!

We paid our $28 tab and left $6 cash but I don’t think I’ll ever go back even though I live down the road. That...
