Let's begin by discussing the burgers. While they don't quite live up to the extravagant claims found in some of the reviews, they certainly have their merits. The flavors, however, could benefit from a touch more seasoning to truly tantalize the taste buds. Additionally, the lettuce used in the burgers could be upgraded from a standard salad variety to a more vibrant and fresh leaf lettuce. The tomatoes, unfortunately, didn't reach the level of freshness one would hope for. While they aren't disappointing, they simply don't leave a lasting impression.
Now, onto the zucchini sticks, or rather, zucchini chips. This slight misnomer aside, the zucchini chips were a true delight. Crispy and flavorful, they surpassed expectations and were a highlight of the meal. To accurately describe them, it would be more fitting to refer to them as fried zucchini chips rather than sticks.
Moving on, the Bosco sticks were reminiscent of the nostalgic school-day treats, but perhaps not as memorable. Nevertheless, they were enjoyable. The fries and mushrooms, however, stood out as exceptional, offering a satisfying accompaniment to the meal. On the other hand, the ranch dressing provided with the meal was average at best, lacking the wow factor.
In terms of service, the staff was exceptional, providing a warm and accommodating experience. Their friendly demeanor added to the overall positive impression.
To summarize, while the restaurant didn't quite live up to the hype found in some exaggerated reviews, it still holds its own. It is worth revisiting, though the exaggerated claims of the other reviewers may stem from personal connections to the owners, a different palate, or limited exposure to truly outstanding burgers. It's important to note that the restaurant isn't bad by any means, but rather falls into the category of being average, with room for...
Read moreI heard about Abby Lane ever since a day in my High School where a classmate of mine recommended it to me. It was stated to have participated in and won The Best Burger Restaurant in Michigan, as far as I remember.
I've been craving burgers recently, and I instantly remembered Abby Lane and wanted to go grab take-out after a movie with my cousin. I was happy to see that the restaurant was still running even after Covid-19 hit and put many business in shut-down and closing.
The food quality had remained the same: Absolutely delicious. I ordered a Cowboy with Raw Onion and Tomato added onto it and it was just as delicious as I remembered. My cousin ordered a BLT sandwich on its lonesome and she stated that it was a great sandwich, despite not liking bacon as much as other people (including me).
When I was told about the current state of the restaurant and 'why' they were only doing take-out orders, it really put into perspective as to how horribly the quarantine had affected the restaurant's business and staff. I was told that despite losing their waitress and making less sales than they did before the shut-down, they were still contempt with making some of the best food that I have ever tasted out of the state of Michigan.
I most certainly recommend this restaurant to everyone reading and considering to order here, and I will be taking my friends to order here as well in the future. 5/5, will...
Read moreI used to love this place. Attention to detail has been less than satisfactory lately. Used to order for the whole crew but the constant missing items have us looking elsewhere for burgers. Burgers are good. I’d give my other stars back if I ever come back and I can count on getting ALL of my food home/work. Unfortunately forgetting items can only make me wonder what else they are forgetting to do in their establishment.
In response to Abby Lane responding to my review; What was missing shouldn’t matter when it comes to the improvements that need to be made in order for your establishment improving the way customer service is handled. Things were missing from our order on multiple occasions. We have vocalized this on numerous visits. We have loved ordering from you guys for quite a few years. Unfortunately we can’t trust that we will receive all items we have paid for when we p/u our orders. We (your customers with 30min to enjoy our lunch) should be able to trust that the staff of Abby Lane is adequately including every item ordered and not have to check up on the accuracy of those you employ; especially at $7 (min) for a...
