Indian spices & pizza is an awesome combo!
Review Update: Their pizza crust is absolutely unique and delicious! It’s somewhere between traditional crust and crispy, buttery naan. We love it.
The butter sauce option makes even a plain cheese pizza much better than normal. When ordering a cheese (for picky kids) I request “light butter sauce”, instead of tomato sauce. That quickly became everyone’s favorite cheese pizza in the area.
They absolutely don’t skimp on cheese. I happen to love that :)
Finally, it’s hard to over-state this, their food seems to be prepared with the utmost care. It’s clear that they put a LOT of attention and effort into each order, so just opening the pizza box is nicer than normal. That probably extends to all their food. I recently got the Chicken Kabab Platter, and every piece of the meal looked great, and tasted great as well. They put a lot of effort into their offerings. Padmini's chicken kabab has always been my go-to, and its a perfect pizza topping!
The spicy chicken pizza is a great combo of kebabs, slightly spicy Indian sauce and lots of cheese. I recently tried the paneer chili pizza which might be my new favorite....
Read moreThe food is good, but I wish it was better, because the portion size is generous, the prices are okay, and the staff is very friendly, and I get the sense this may be a family business working hard to succeed. Unfortunately, everything I had tasted "watered down." The curried chicken had excellent pieces of white meat chicken, but the curry sauce was thin and lacked the spices I depend on to give Indian cuisine its unique flavor. Likewise, the palak paneer was watery, as if you put the entire serving in a sieve the thin sauce would drain away and leave you with a sparse helping of spinach and some chunks of tofu. The naan bread was a generous serving size, but tasted more like pizza dough (and maybe it does double-duty as pizza crust, because pizza is on their menu). The rice was bland and lacked the usual infusion of toasted spices, while the mint and tamarind sauces were very watered down--the tamarind sauce so much so that is was practically flavorless. Other reviewers report a much better experience, so maybe I was there...
Read moreI LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I moved to Frederick about a year ago and I was starting to get tired of all the common food places around here, when I had a strong craving for something new. I had driven by padminis a couple times so I thought I would give it a try. First off, let me say the owner was beyond helpful and gracious. She gave me a sample of almost the whole menu, making it incredibly hard for me to decide what to get. I have never felt so appreciated as customer. Second, the food is amazing! I literally crave the curried lamb at lest once a week. The masala is incredible, the spicy chicken is fantastic! Love the vegetarian options and the side are great. Third, the price is out of this world. Indian food tends to be on the expensive side, but the prices for the amount of food you get is unbeatable. The other day I feed 3 people and only spent $24, and have leftovers for lunch (even though it didn’t last till the next day) I have recommended many of my friends here and they have always agreed. No question, my favorite place in...
