First time here today and we will definitely be back to try other sandwiches. The store/restaurant is in a smallish space at Old Silk Mill with ample parking in a lot up front. It would be a great stop if walking the Rappahannock Trail right across the street.
There are two tables and chairs and a selection of sauces as well as rubs and seasoning. Today we tried the Grilled Veggie Sandwich, Muffulatta, with a side of potatoes salad and a side of chickpea salad.
The bread on both sandwiches was super tasty, chewy but with the crunch in the right spots. The veggie had roasted eggplant, zucchini, roasted red and yellow peppers, avocado and greens. I skipped the onion and Peri Peri as I can't do much spice. It was delicious. Crunchy, homemade, warm and delicious. I'll most likely add a slice of cheese next time.
My BF had the Muffulatta, he also really enjoyed it, good amount of meat and lots of olives. We enjoyed the sides also. The chickpea salad was light, refreshing and again, very homemade.
The restaurant has multiple choices of sandwiches, as well as make your own options. Can't wait to try another one. We also picked up some spices to try, the guacamole was demo'd today and was perfect. Great small spot in Fredericksburg and hope they stick around...
Read moreI recently came across interesting videos posted by Rita, the lady who owns this interesting little spice, sauce, and sandwich shop in downtown Fredericksburg, so I made plans to stop in. Rita was great, very friendly and helpful… she explained their story (which I loved) and their sauces. She gave me samples of all the amazing sauces she makes, all of which I enjoyed. She’s got a great range form mild to really hot, but all are packed with flavor and an interesting reason for the recipe.
I was actually there for lunch, so perusing the menu, I had a hard time deciding what to order, because it all looked great! I really wanted their Reuben, but I decided to go for something a little healthier and went for their Chicken Swarma pita sandwich with a side of their chick pea salad.
The salad was very tasty, fresh and enjoyable. I really luv’d the sandwich though! The flavors in the chicken were amazing, the ingredients were fresh and it was put together perfectly!
I highly recommend stopping in, even if only to pick up some spices and/or sauces to use to cook your meal at home… Rita is great and she’s got a very nice concept here…. Definitely a local joint...
Read moreThis place is an hour away from me. I have been a supporter of their hot sauces for years with online purchases, but finally, I got to visit the Bistro and order a meal. The service was great. Got to talk to Chris (his wife and him own the business) about hot sauces and the Bistro. For lunch, I had the Chicken Shwarma Combo, which came with a drink and a side. I chose the Tiah Chili ColeSlaw. The coleslaw was awesome, creamy with a little spice that had a twang in the back of the jaw. The sandwich was just as good. I put a little extra Wrath Of Rita Sauce on to give it a kick. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and the Tzatziki Sauce with Hummus knocked it out of the park. Great sandwich!!! My wife is plain Jane and built her own turkey sandwich, which she said was also great. They just got their ABC license and have local VA beer on tap. Of course, before leaving, I had to pick up several sauces and seasonings for the road. I'm so glad I finally got to visit the place. Highly recommend it if in the...
