A great little spot in downtown Fredericksburg - I was recommended Osan after getting a sandwich at "The Worst Deli" in a different part of Fredericksburg. I heard they split off and started their own place at a sushi joint, so we decided to take a look!

The restaurant is small, but not in a bad way. It's a cozy feeling and it has a good ambiance to it. We were seated immediately and surprised by all of the options. The bar seems like the best seat in the house where you get to watch the sushi being made, however we opted for a table.

We started with the Chicken Yakitori which was stellar and I would love a whole entree of just this chicken, that's how good it was!

My husband is not a sushi eater, so he always goes for Chicken Katsu. He enjoyed his entree, miso, but was a little taken back by the salad included. This was mainly because we're used to the familiar ginger-carrot dressing that is usually included at sushi restaurants. He said it tested a lot more peppery and more like mayo than he was used to. Nonetheless, he still cleared that bowl!

I ordered a Shrimp Tempura Roll which was delicious, albeit a bit small in the portion sizing than I'm used to for the price.

I also ordered the Jaeyook Bokkeum, which is a Korean spicy marinated pork. I was happy to see more Korean food on the menu and wasn't expecting that. I was told it was about comparable in spice to a medium wing. As someone who moved here from Buffalo, NY, I would say it's a little bit less than a true medium. Enough to make your lips feel a bit warm, but the flavors were great. I would get more in a heartbeat if my stomach could fit all the meat on the plate they serve it on. It also comes with a side of rice if you needed something to help cool your mouth down if you like spice but aren't quite equipped to handle it.

I always love to see what people order here while eating and it is overwhelmingly the bento boxes. Because this was already such a fantastic outing, I think that will be on the docket for...

I have visited this restaurant several times and always appreciate the welcoming atmosphere. However, I noticed that the owner often treats me as if it were my first visit, which can be a bit disappointing, especially since we had a pleasant conversation about the restaurant’s name during my last visit. That said, I understand, as the restaurant is popular and often very busy with many guests, including those waiting for a table.

Today, I ordered chicken katsu, sushi, and udon, and I genuinely enjoyed everything. However, I found the rice to be less satisfactory; it had the taste of being cooked a day prior. I visited around 12:30 PM, shortly after they opened, so I had expected the rice to be freshly made. Given that sushi is likely their main dish, I believe that the quality of the rice is crucial. While I was okay with the rice served with the sushi, it didn’t quite meet my expectations alongside the chicken katsu.

I know that people who eat rice often really care about its quality, just like those who enjoy bread understand how important it is. I sincerely hope the restaurant can enhance the quality of their rice, ensuring it is always fresh for customers.

Aside from that, I want to emphasize that everything else was excellent. The staff were kind and attentive, and the service was quick. Thank you for a lovely...

Our family of seven recently had the pleasure of dining at Osan Japanese Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable culinary delight. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was welcoming and set the stage for what turned out to be an exceptional meal.

We indulged in a variety of fresh sushi and sashimi, each piece a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and flavor. The fish was incredibly fresh, practically melting in our mouths, and the presentation was nothing short of artistic.

I opted for the chicken teriyaki, which did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and bathed in a deliciously savory teriyaki sauce that was both rich and well-balanced. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left me wanting more.

A special shoutout goes to our server, Fran, who truly elevated our dining experience. Fran was attentive and friendly, ensuring that everything was to our satisfaction. He constantly checked on us, making sure our drinks were refilled and our needs met, all while maintaining a warm and personable demeanor.

Overall, Osan Japanese Restaurant provided an exceptional dining experience for our family. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was impeccable. We highly recommend Osan Japanese Restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Japanese cuisine. We'll...

What can I say about Osan? To begin, the service was amazing. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted and treated with generous service. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The food though, the food was extraordinary. Osan serves the best Japanese food we've had in the area. The greatest we've ever had was Ajisen Ramen in New York, but Osan was an accidental and incredible find in Fredericksburg. We chose Bibimbap, Gyoza, Miso soup, a couple of sushi rolls, Bulgogi, and Nabeyaki Udon. Each dish was delicious. If you're a foodie, you'll greatly enjoy the selection offered by Osan. We will be back.

I’ve been looking for restaurants that serves Uni and found this one. And OMG Uni Uni sooooo Good you could taste the freshness of the sea urgent. Everything from Sushi, steak and squid salad was perfect. Also highly recommend the fried vanilla ice cream so yummy. The stuff is super friendly, however I felt abit rush. Maybe because I’m an annoying slow eater 😂 every time I put my fork or chopsticks down the stuff asked if they could take the plate. “Hell no you cannot ! cuz *** is good “ 😂 I don’t really like the bathroom tho. But who wants to hang around In the bathroom. Definitely worth the price we’ve paid for.
