Great but be careful about Day ( or two) old cookies.
The sandwiches are classic Potbelly fare - delicious. Cookies, when they are fresh (which is usually, although it is supposed to be always - they are supposed to make them fresh every day), are my favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in the world. However, today I got my meatball sandwich (delicious) and an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and the cookie was a day or two old. It was dry, flaky, and stale. For the first time ever I did not finish my cookie. It just wasnât worth the calories.
I addressed the issue with the employees and they said âas far as they knew the cookies were supposed to be made fresh every day.â Yeah, I know the same thing, they are supposed to be made fresh every day, but the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie today was clearly baked yesterday or Friday. The employee hemmed and hawed but never denied selling yesterdayâs cookies. I told them it was a very bad idea to sell not fresh cookies because that was part of the reason I go to Potbelly and if the cookies arenât fresh (which is easy to tell - especially when you have eaten them at Potbelly for the past 15 years) people will not buy them or will go to other Potbelly stores.
So, to the owner. DO NOT CHEAP OUT and try to save money by selling day or two old cookies. Suck it up and do what your franchise agreement tells you to do. Make ALL the cookies the same day you sell them. Short run a little bit less money, long run A LOT more money.
Iâll give you one more chance then I am going to write...
Read moreMy experience today wasnât the best. I didnât get everyoneâs names but I made my purchase at 1:19pm on 05/11/2022, so whoever was working that shift. Everyone was rude except for Jackie. She was so kind and had great energy. The two girls who made my sandwich were VERY RUDE. They didnât even look up to say hello or how are you. when they finally spoke, they talked to us as if we upset them. full blown attitudes. The girl on the end with the bread, my friend asked her what else comes with the Grilled chicken & Cheddar sandwich, as it was her first time ordering food from potbelly. The employee looked in annoyance, grabbed a piece of grilled chicken and a small piece of cheddar cheese and showed it to us. The professional response would have been âJust the grilled chicken & cheddar. However, you can customize it more to your liking further down.â The girl who puts toppings on the sandwiches, literally said âHEREâ when abruptly giving it to me. No smiles, no have a good day, no youâre welcome after we said thank you⌠and to top it she didnât wrap the sandwiches well.. the sandwiches were literally coming out the wrap in the bag. Whether you are having a bad day or not, treat people how you want to be treated. You are in a professional setting, so be...
Read moreGreat sandwich just wished the customer service matched. Brought the family here about 35 minutes before closing and the staff looked irritated we showed up. They had already quit before we walked in. They were sweeping when we walked in and made us wait a few minutes before they helped us. Very unprofessional and terrible customer service. The customer should never feel they are inconveniencing an employee by there presence. They looked irritated because we were there not because we asked for a ridiculous custom order...just because we showed up 35 minutes before they were closing. Not getting off work...just closing the doors to the public which I'm sure there are operational procedures that must be followed for cleanliness, food safety, and closing out your till. Liked the food but the service was very off putting and don't think I will be back. As we were leaving, we could hear one of them complaining about an online pickup order coming in. That's a scary thought and hope there wasn't any shenanigan sauce put on...
