Bodo Lucky Japanese Restaurant: Small Space, Big Flavor Explosion! Bodo had been on my radar for ages, and finally, I snagged a spot during the bustling holiday season. Now, let me tell you, this place lives up to the hype! Sure, it's cozy , and parking might be a seasonal game of Tetris. But once you squeeze in and snag a seat, prepare for a flavor adventure. The menu teems with intriguing options, and the star of the show, the ramen, is truly something special. The Nagasaki ramen stole my heart (and taste buds). It's a symphony of rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and tender pork belly. I savored every slurp, and let me tell you, the spice level packs a punch. If you're a heat seeker, go for it – it's incredible. But proceed with caution, my spice-loving friends, because "spicy" here might have your forehead glistening. Speaking of spice, the menu caters to all levels, which is fantastic. My little ramen warriors devoured the kids' option, and the accompanying fresh fries were a golden, crispy delight. Even the vegetarian ramen stole the show – a flavorful broth full of veggies that had me questioning why I ever considered meat in ramen. And to top it all off, a complimentary pudding capped the meal with a creamy, sweet note. It was the perfect way to end this epic culinary journey. So, if you're looking for an intimate, flavorful, and authentic ramen experience, Bodo is a must-try. This gem is definitely on my "come back for more" list, and I'm already raving about it to all my ramen-loving friends. **Highlights:** * **Amazing Nagasaki ramen:** Flavorful broth, perfect noodles, and tender pork belly. * **Vegetarian ramen:** A must-try for meat-free foodies. * **Spicy options:** Customizable spice level, but be warned, "spicy" is no joke! * **Kids' menu:** Ramen and fries combo that'll keep the little ones happy. * **Complementary pudding:** A sweet, creamy finish to the meal. * **Interesting menu:** More than just ramen to explore. **Considerations:** * **Small and crowded:** Be prepared for a cozy (read: tiny) atmosphere. * **Limited seating:** Snag a spot early, especially during peak hours. * **Parking might be tricky:** Plan ahead and explore nearby options. **Overall:** A small space with a big flavor punch! Delicious ramen, customizable spice levels, and more to explore on the menu. Perfect for ramen lovers and adventurous eaters. Just be prepared to share the space and potentially the sidewalk for parking. I'll definitely be back!

Pretty good for a Chinese rendition of Japanese ramen. I tried the Kuro ramen. The standard portion was ample. The tonkotsu broth was nourishing, but lacked flavor complexity. Soup could have been hotter. Toppings and noodles were ok - one notch below authentic Japanese ramen shops in South Bay. It was as if salt and oil settings were turned down a notch to fit local Chinese tastes. The almond tofu dessert was excellent. Overall, for $8.50, it's an excellent value. Service was quick and responsive - excellent. I look forward to coming back to try their other fare (Japanese curry, etc). Solid 4 stars. 3/9/19 Update: looks like they've increased prices (50 cents for the Kuro). I tried the Tantanmen this time. The medium thick broth was excellent - they didn't hold back on the sesame or the heat or the flavors. Toppings, including the hanjuku tamago, was good. Clearly, the weakest part was the noodles. Even after I asked them to keep it firm, they were subpar. Overall, for around $12 for such a large bowl, it was still well worth it - hopefully, no more price inflation for a while. I'd pick the Tantanmen over the Kuro. 3/4/22 Update: not sure what happened, but the Tantanmen now lacks flavor. It’s ok to make the tonkotsu soup milder to suit customers, but then the flavor or saltiness of the miso hikiniku should be increased to compensate. The old almond tofu is gone and replaced with mediocre milk tea ($14.28 after tax, $17 after tips). The only thing good left is the generous portion size. Dunno if was the timing (FRI afternoon 4PM) or the drop in quality/quantity for the price or Arashi Ramen around the corner (worth a revisit), but I was the only one dining in today. Down to 3.5 stars. I hope they can pull it together!

This place is amazing! I still cannot believe the deal i can get here..in NorCal!

ok first of all... this isn't your authentic japanese ramen spot. You're not going to get ippudo, ramen nagi, or santouka type of broth/noodles here.

yes you'll find your tonkotsu broth and ramen but it won't taste the same. it isn't as rich -- and there isn't that deep bone flavor.

You come here to just enjoy a bowl of noodles (think of it as a different type of ramen), a fusion i would say and you won't be disappointed. Coming here and you thinking you're getting high quality japanese noodles, then you will be disappointed. Anyway, the noodles and broth here are tasty, especially if you get their spicy paste to add onto yourself. You do get a generous amount of noodles, broth and even egg. Most places you get half an egg, you get the whole egg here. Each bowl of ramen comes with a drink of your choice (hong kong style milk tea or lemon tea). At the end of our meal we also got complimentary desserts! we were offered chinese almond pudding (not sure if this changes daily).

if you have kids, do order from the kids menu ( a bowl of noodles + drink + fries). The kids bowl is a good size. I thought the set would just come in plain noodles, but to my surprised they also included veggies, a slice of meat and half an egg in the kid's bowl of noodles. All for $7.99!!!!

our adult bowls ranges from 12.99 to 15.99. honestly the price is not bad compared to other restaurants. And to think you get free drink and dessert.

when the bill came, they even gave my kids two packs of sour belts!

love the service and all the complimentary items. Truly the best deal i've ever...
