Food was wonderful. Service on the table was also great. But the problem was the to go order. Even before we could be seated, we placed order for to go Food and idly batter. We were seated. We finished eating in 45 minutes, paid the bill and then asked for the to go package. For nearly one odd hour everyone in their crew kept telling that it's coming in one minute. After about one hour we noticed a couple and figured out that they are the owners and asked them. They were extremely apologetic and got the food package delivered in less than a minute. Obviously the to go Food was ready and waiting, but nobody in the crew was willing to take responsibility to deliver it because they believed it's not their job.

We had gone to San Jose and while driving back to SF, dropped by at MIK to pick up the to go Food. Believe me, it took me more than one hour. After constant follow up, was handed over the package when I started asking for the refund.

Today I am in Fremont. Another friend and his family and my family want to take to go Food. I suggested that let's go to MIK. The other family outrightly rejected the suggestion by telling we need to reach SF soon and cannot be waiting endlessly. So we went to Idly Express to pick up the to go Food. Idly Express delivered in less than 5 minutes all that we ordered.

That's one reason I am giving 4 stars despite Food being top quality.

To the owners; If you are reading this, you seem to have accountability issues among your staff. They seem to not wanting to do something which they are not assigned to. It will not be long when you will realize all those who want to patronize your place for delivery or to go will go elsewhere. Mylapore and Idly Express became big because they ensured their staff were trained in customer delight. You need to assign the responsibility of to go to some exclusive staff and hold him accountable if timely delivery doesn't happen. If not you will only have to depend on walk in customers. People like us who drive down from SF for good food will go to places like Idly Express to experience customer delight while placing order for to go Food. This is just a feedback since your food is good and don't want you guys to shut down because of non delivery in to go part of...

Service and marketing issues: We came here on Nov 29, Friday in the week of thanksgiving after seeing their flyer about unlimited dosa (with some exceptions) Tue- Fri till thanksgiving week. When we entered there were people in two tables already well into their meals and 3 wait staff in total. Despite this we had to flag the waiter down after 10 min of patiently waiting to place our orders. At this point we asked him about the unlimited dosa offer and he said it needed with thanksgiving Thursday and he couldn’t give us the offer today despite us pointing out it said till Friday . We then asked him for recommendations and he said he’s not sure, he has only eaten few dosas himself. So we proceeded to order a peanut dosa and a benne dosa. Then the peanut dosa came in about ten minutes and a good ten minutes later the benne dosa appeared. The peanut dosa was much bigger than the disposable plates and they flopped it around on the counter which is unhygienic. The plates can easily be made bigger or the dosa folder before serving to avoid this. Then we again flagged the waiter down to ask about the happy hour advertised on their menu from Tuesday - Friday 2-6 pm since it was a Friday and well within the time window. The waiter told us the offer starts only next week and asked us what else we would like to order. We decided to end our meal there and paid at the counter and left. We were provided kids on asking for our sambar and chutney .

Taste:

Taste was good, and chutney and sambar were quite good too. However they weren’t exceptional to overlook the poor service and deceptive offers.

Service is quite lacking and most of the wait staff were just hanging around talking even when there wasn’t a crowd. Advertising something and not honoring is actually quite a serious business , and I will take my business to other...

Biiiigggg disappointment!!!! I would have given less than one star if possible. The service, the food, the ambiance everything is disappointing. The food is below average. The tall guy refused to take our order two times as he was too busy, after 20 mins he took the order and we got our appetiser after 40 minutes. We ordered mini idili dipped in sambar, ghee masala dosa, Mysore masala dosa and filter coffee. The mini idili dipped in sambar was sour and sambar had no taste, no salt and the ghee or oil was too much in it. The chutneys were adding nothing to the dish. The ghee masala dosa was cold, masala was tasteless. Same with Mysore masala dosa, the expected spicy chutney on the dosa was insufficient and it tastes like plain dosa. With ghee masala they give peanuts chutney and with Mysore masala they gave coconut chutney. The girl who brought it she doesn’t even understand what was it! For filter coffee, they ran out of milk so we waited for that more than 15 minutes. The girl gave us sugar in a bowl, how we supposed to put sugar in cup without spoon? On our table we didn’t have the spoons and napkin stand, when we asked the spoons some guy handed us plastic spoons so need to asked them specifically steel spoons, so he gave us two wet spoons,the service is that poor! The plates were small to hold the food. Overall experience was very poor. We shared this experience with manager and he was nothing but sorry. We are never going back there! Totally waste of...
