Generally I am not a big fan of these meat based soup bowls but I thought of giving it a try as I got attracted with the signage offering appetizer and a dessert as compliment but for My shock I am surely disappointed as they offered 30 fried peanuts and at the end three slices of orange but a sweet one though. I suggest they should offer a dessert real one even it is small bowl.
So don’t be excited about these two side offers as they are not worth.
How ever coming to the main course soup bowl I choose basa fish bowl With side of rice and it was huge bowl of piping hot soup with cabbage and roots like Mushrooms which is amazing. Another surprise is the size of the bowl makes u feel like a family size but one inch of the base is just the thick bottom and still it’s good for a full meal for any one and they offer unlimited free rice which I didn’t know until the end. I could manage to finish half of it brought home the rest.
Rey the manager who served was very helpful and he is actually amazing with how he guided me and suggested me and one last word is the taste is amazing and surely going back to spend 18$ for a huge...
Read moreThe soups wasn't for us. We ordered 2 of the combo specials: 1 Lemon Green Peppercorns flavor Snakehead fish soup with Jasmine milk tea 1 Litsea flavor Snakehead fish soup with Yaxi fragrance Lemon tea.
The soups came in large bowls, which made it look like you were getting a lot but you don't. Unlike pho bowls, these soup bowls were shallow. We found the circumference of the bowls took up a lot of the table space and made our dining experience feel constricted.
As for flavor, the Lemon Green Peppercorn soup didn't taste lemony at all. This soup tasted bland compared to Avgolemono (which is a Greek Lemon soup). As for the Litsea soup, it tasted like a Sichuan pepper soup, it even had the same mouth numbing feeling. Even though we ordered fish chucks in our soup, we both got little fish fillets (smaller than Nigri sushi).
Lastly, the metal cups had a mildew smell to them, which made the water undrinkable. After paying for our meal, we let the waiter know that the cups had a mildew smell. They checked all of the cups that were neatly stacked on the counter and they agreed that the cups did have an unpleasant...
Read moreHorrible experience. I would give zero stars if I could. This is a Chinese chain that runs on venture capital and hype instead of quality and service
The service was so slow on a Friday afternoon. There were only 3 tables and the couple next to me couldn't get service for 10 minutes because the only waiter (not sure if he's the owner) kept chatting with another table in Chinese. They didn't bring me any water until I asked. Their menu is outdated (and the poster outside) as the promotion combo ended months ago but they kept it in the menu.
The food was bland and had quality control problems. Ordered the signature dish pickle fish and it got a dead insect in the soup. Asked them to change it. The portion looked big but it's a disguise as the bowl has raised bottom. I got some violent food poisoning from this place, went to the bathroom 5 times that afternoon. I had to rush to the restroom in 99 ranch next door literally 10 minutes after eating here. Go find somewhere else there's plenty of better pickle fish places nearby. Not worth your...
