I had a very disappointing experience at this Taiwanese hot pot restaurant. We came in as a large group (4). Although they had a few empty tables for 4, the restaurant did not have enough bigger tables for larger groups, and they were unable to easily move or combine tables to accommodate us. This resulted in even more waiting time. It takes an hour from us arriving till we have food ready. It also surprised me of how long I had to wait from the time I got seated till the soup and ingredients arrive, as I would imagine as a hotpot restaurant it doesn't need that much time to prepare the raw ingredients and soup.

Food was also disappointing - most of soup base was bland except for the tom yum one (the house special soup is literally just a piece of kombu in the soup base and it almost has no flavor). The seasonal herbal lamb soup was incredibly bitter. Be careful of how they translate the soup names in Chinese and English as it doesn't explain what the soup is very well in one language. Avoid avoid avoid. There were so many issues with my steak. It is one of the worst meals I have had in the bay.

1. I ordered the New York strip, but what I got was definitely not a New York strip. This was a cheap cut of meat marketed as NY Strip.

2. I asked for medium-rare doneness and I got a well-done steak. There are options for medium rare, medium, and well done. Why even ask for doneness if it all comes out as well-done?

3. The steak looked like it was microwaved. It's a dull brown color all the way through. No browning or searing at all.

I waited until the crowds had dispersed before arriving at this popular Taiwanese teppanyaki restaurant. The steak was tender and juicy, and the $18 set meal came with salad, corn soup, and garlic bread. You could choose your own pasta, and the mushroom sauce I chose was delicious. The problem was that there was only one senior server, and she forgot my soup and tea. I was halfway through my steak when the tea didn't come.

The $4.90 lemon tea didn't even taste like lemon tea; it was just lemon slices in the tea, completely tasteless.
