Five Guys — Restaurant in Monroe

We called around 7:20pm to place a pickup order thinking this would make things quicker. (We were wrong) after not getting a wait time we gave them 15-20 minutes and went in to pay the line set up is a little confusing, and they point in both directions even though the line is to the left near the register. We paid $45 for 2 of the tik tok grilled cheese burgers, a BLT amd 3 fries. We paid at 7:40, we stood around and waited, they have boxes of free peanuts available which is pretty cool, they called order after order after order and it was busy so we waited patiently. Around 8:20 a young woman asked what our order was and why we were still waiting. Turned out our order had already been made, never called out, and set to the side. They remade our order immediately, changed all of our sized to larges, and comped our meal with 3 $10 gift cards. They're super busy, the food was made correctly and it was pretty good. Absolutely one of the best places to grab a burger. It doesn't matter what location you go to. The staff is always nice and the food is always good. Unlike other chain restaurants where the quality of staff and food can vary by location, Five Guys is the same great food and service at every location. I should know I have eaten at several of them. The stores are filled with newspaper articles and reviews of them all over the walls and in the bathrooms highlighting the different communities they are in. I remember going to one in Indiana and seeing an article about the Livonia, MI location and it brought tears to my eyes because I was missing home at the time but it also brought a smile to my face that a company highlights several of its locations at each location. I came in at 5:33 on April 3rd and a customer (Lynn) was so rude. The only reason I know her name is I heard her say it. She had ordered online and was upset she had to wait for her fries to be made fresh. She was the epitome of a Karen minus the yelling. I understand if you are in pain or having a bad day being disabled myself but it was just a couple of minutes. These young people are doing a fantastic job and things are running smoothly, especially for being open less than a month. Kyra handled Lynn/Karen with calmness and grace. FYI Lynn, yes you indeed did order online but they make shakes and fries when you get there so they’re fresh. Try to remember some of these people are teens and all are new.
