My family and I arrived at 12:15pm and were seated just after 12:30pm. At 1:40pm we asked our server if our food would be out soon. We were told that our food was being made as fast as it can. We brought up the fact that tables that were sat well after us were getting their food before us, we were told that they were not sat after us. I asked the hostess if we could speak to a manager. When the manager finally arrived, he was not professional and did not introduce himself by name, all he said was I heard y'all wanted to talk to me. We explain to him the situation, and his response to us was that the food was cooking and that he can't control how long that it takes. He said he would see what he could do, then told us that he had to go back to the kitchen because he himself was cooking and then just walked away from the table. Our food arrived at 1:50pm. My food never showed up and neither did my husbands cinnamon roll. Our server never did a 2 minute checked back. Eventually another server came up to the table to see if we were doing all right and I let her know that I did not receive my food and that my husband was missing some of his food. She immediately apologized and walked into the kitchen. About 10 seconds later our server comes out with what is supposed to be my food and puts it down in front of me, it was old and I can tell that I had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while and that it just had never come out. I handed it back to the server and let her know that I didn't want it. She asked me why I didn't want it and I told her because its been sitting under the heat lamp. She then told me that it's fresh and had just came out. I understand that there's problems and issues and sometimes kitchens get behind but what I don't appreciate is being lied to and treated like I'm being crazy when I'm trying to explain to them that our food is taking forever or that we're...
Read moreThis is a fancy diet diner. Meaning, if you’re in a diet, this is the place for you. Food flavor is average, portions are way below average, service was not ok. Our poor server was way too overwhelmed for a packed dinner so her service was below average, I didn’t even got her name(also no name tags). The only reason for this place to be packed is because the next closest diner is far. I make it a point to visit a new diner every week, this one is on my do not return list. But it’s not their fault, they have no close competition.
Now to the food. 1. I had the ”supreme omelette”, it was average. About the size of my closed hand. Walmart bought “English muffins” (which I like), and the worst “City grits” I’ve ever had, they’re more like mash potatoes. 2. Now, they have some amazing “Carrot pancake”! They are worth the trip. They are amazing! 3. The “traditional breakfast” sausage has a ridiculous amount of seasoning(maybe it’s supposed to be like that, but my wife didn’t like it), the eggs where sunny side up instead of over medium, and if you order extra pancakes you will get one single buttermilk pancake for $3, and I get that this is not Dallas, but because it’s Southlake I expect way more than Dallas. $3 for a single pancake its insane. They did replace my horrible grits and deducted the price from the bill.
Overall I give it a 4/10. My review it’s only based on food and service from the server. Everything else is not in the review. Even though I said that the carrot pancake is amazing, I’m not a huge fan of carrot things, so I won’t come back for it. But if you are a fan of anything carrot related, go for it.
They do have a small bar, which in my opinion is...
