Bottom line: don’t eat there. First visit to Fg Garden Fresno location in a few years. Always liked it. We were pleased with the presentation, cashier and waitress were friendly. We had a build your own salad with turkey. We were disappointed though with the degree of spoilage of the greens, celery and tomatoes. Good green broccoli can be hard to find, we know, but some of it was wholly yellow, with no green at all. Tomatoes and strawberries were well past their prime. The worst was the lettuce/greens: several pieces were brown and “gooey”. Mushrooms were black, oily and strongly seasoned, presumably to hide their spoilage. .The most upsetting thing about this is there were very few people at 3:30, we could hear employees chatting, so it is very unlikely that the preppers were too busy to be unaware of the state of the food items. And I am confident that none of them would have eaten what they served to us. Two things were apparent:1) required ordering at the register prevented us from seeing the condition of the veges, and 2) the bad stuff was intentionally hidden under a good layer of healthy veges. Read moreWent in today around noon to purchase a $50 gift card. Since the line was long, I asked at the register first if I needed to wait in line to purchase a gift card. The young lady working the register said I did. So, I waited in the line and when I got to the register, she said, “Giftcard, right?” I replied yes. When she went to reach for a gift card she said oh I guess we are out. She said let me check and ask. When she returned and said they were out of gift cards, I reminded her that she was the same person who told me to wait in line for a gift card. She said she didn’t know they were out. Since a manager was standing nearby, I asked to speak to him. I explained how I was told to wait in line by the same person who then said they were out of gift cards. His reply was yes they were out of gift cards. I asked him if he saw the point I was trying to make and his only reply was yes. If either one of them would have just apologized , I can appreciate the fact that they are out of gift cards and understand it was a mistake. But there was no apology at all., Very sad since I like eating at this place but they need to work on...
Read moreTried this place tonight via Door Dash. I decided to customize my sandwich, and DD gives no place for notes to get to the restaurant. There were changes you can make within the app, I will give them that. I ordered the NY Rueben. I just didn’t want Rye bread. I called before the order was placed via door dash to see if there was a way I could change the bread. The girl insisted that it would be no problem, she told me what kind of bun they would use, and I said it sounded great! Once the order was placed, I called back and let them know the order was placed, gave then the name it was under, and the girl on the other end assured me that it would be taken care of. This place is fairly pricey, I trusted that they may put a little more care into getting orders correct, but I was sadly mistaken. The sandwich came on the rye bread.
