Great food but weird service, or lack there of! We didn't see any signs or directions so just grabbed a couple seats at the bar facing the street. Amazing view!! We sat for awhile and hubby finally went up to the bar to ask about menus and drinks. The guy said sure, here's some menu's, are you going to pay or open a tab! That was it!! We perused the menu, placed our order and sat back down. Pretty quickly somebody was yelling our name!! They delivered the food and drinks, each time yelling out our name as if for the first time!! Between drinks, soup, tacos, oysters and a Polish dog, that was 6 times!! The food was amazing, all of it!! The smoked salmon chowder was thick and rich with just the right amount of salmon and clams. The fish and shrimp tacos both were grilled and nicely spicy, not over powering. The polish dog is huge! Now, those oysters though, they were phenomenal!! Grilled to perfection and the caper broth they add is genius! I definitely highly recommend Friday's, especially for the chowder and oysters, and will come back for sure!

I am conflicted about this review because the food was pretty good BUT went to FH for 3 days and the only day they were open was literally while we were waiting for the ferry back home after the vacation so we literally rushed there to try their food because we saw pictures from other reviews and we really wanted to try it. The part that I dont get is how are they expecting that people knows how to order or where to go because is like a hawaian bar downstairs and upstairs but you dont really know if everything is together or what's going on. Also their website says "ALWAYS OPEN" but like I said we did not see them open for 2 and half days straight, so I dont know about that, mostly because when you get there there is signs on site that say otherwise. They open from 11:30 to 7 pm on the Sunday we were leaving that's all (Unbelievable schedule for a tourist location on a weekend) so my opinion, someone should take over this mine and start bringing the jewels before people get tired of the way is managed

Disappointed in this experience. It's a self service restaurant. You order at a bar & they bring you your food, that's the extent of service you get. I asked if the crab cakes were lump meat & she replied with its "rock crab, she hand makes them". We gave them a shot & the fish & chips. Fries lacked salt, cod was chewy & lacked taste. Crab cakes was ok, the shredd crab meat to me is more like Tuna & doesn't have good texture or taste. The coleslaw is a waste of ingredients. The best thing I had was the Pepsi. This meal was not cheap and the service didn't make up for anything.

Food is good, there are no complaints I can think of regarding it.

My main gripe is the location itself and a lack of upkeep. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great spot, awesome view. The issue is everything feels sticky? The floor, the tables, the chairs. What could be a cool area to eat is kinda dampened by the cheap plastic tables and chairs that could be either power washed or preferably tossed. I understand it is almost entirely an outside location, so protecting your equipment like tables, chairs, and the building itself from the bipolar Washington weather is definitely not easy.

Since writing this, my last visit went down as such: We went up, and ordered our food before sitting down at one of the outdoor plastic tables, located at the bottom of the wall where the bar lays atop (important). We get our food, it’s good, our server is nice, however as we eat a question is asked, “Is it starting to rain?” Now, it was raining, but not the regular precipitation you would expect. It just so happened that another customer, seated along the railing which towered over us and our table, had spilled a drink, which had begun to slowly drip and splatter on some of the decorations that cover the wall above us, before sprinkling onto the table.

Now, is this anyone fault? Not really, could it have been prevented by anyone working that day? No, but I think it should be common sense to have some sort of awning under a location where people eat.

I sincerely promise that there is no ill will in this review, and I am not disgruntled over what happened, I am merely attempting to give feedback on what...

Went in on Saturday with my girlfriend who has family on the island. I ordered two drinks and a calamari platter. The bartender upstairs (tall/balding) shut me down trying to point to the one thing we wanted from the menu. After handing the drinks he walked away and I asked to order the food again. He said he had it. 45 minutes later after seeing tables come, get served and go, i asked about our order. It was never put in. He said he would put it in again and it would arrive in around 5 minutes, offering to comp two drinks for our trouble. 15 minutes later the wrong order arrived, just the appetizer (I was clear about coleslaw and French fries). The waitress told us the rest would be out soon. We waited another 15 minutes for the rest before I asked again. The bartender offered to comp the wrong order and charge us for the drinks he already comped. He finally conceded, probably due to the other bartender that had to ask him to take care of me instead of making me stand there with my card out. He finally comped the food and charged us just for the original two drinks, angrily pushing the bill machine at me...I still tipped him 20% for the drinks, but I am perplexed how our experience went so horribly wrong. I don't think I want to go back and see that bartender again! I gave am extra star because the calamari was really good, and the other...

We had lunch here while we waited for our ferry. The view is really nice. The service flow is weird and confusing. You just sit down waiting to be served and then when nobody came to us we were told you go order at the bar/work station. I ordered the Cod Fish and Chips and the fish tacos for my wife and a appetizer of Calamari. The Calamari and the fish and chips came fairly quickly but the fish tacos we were told were being prepared in another area and would be out soon. We ate my fish and chips and the calamari but still no fish tacos. We asked again and the server went and checked and told us they were working on them and they would be ready soon. We finished the fish and chips and calamari, STILL NO TACOS!!I went to the server area and just said we need to leave and just refund us our money for the tacos. Then the person that rang up the orders stated she didn’t hear my order for tacos and showed me she didn’t charge me for them!!! The how did someone check on them earlier to let us know they would be ready soon? I pointed this out to the server and with no remorse or concern she simply stated “ but I didn’t charge you for them”! I clearly had ordered them however. Nice view but don't waste your time, The Downrigger across the street has better views and their staff is amazing and very helpful ! Go there and you won’t be...
