The broth for my tom khar was scorched. The broth was discolored and tasted almost like dark roux. There were 3 pieces of dry chicken breast in the soup. I also ordered extra mushrooms so there would be some substance to the soup and I got a total of 3-4 mushrooms. Please next time just charge me extra and give me what I requested. For soup and a side of rice that was almost $20 with tip I expect to get more than three strips of chicken. They do spice it up if u order 10 thai, however what is the point of pouring scorched, spicy under seasoned broth over rice because there is NOTHING else in the container. I have ordered this more than once now and attempted to pay extra for better food. This is why I added extra mushroom and a side of rice and it still is not a meal. If you cant execute the dish take it off the menu. I order this dish every place I go, this version is so disappointing but we have no other options on the island. Too bad they obviously know we have no choice. If you mess up the soup just 86 the item that day please. Dont pass it off on the guest. Thanks..... wish I could talk myself into being a regular but I can make at home much...
Read moreOur family visited SannJuan Island for the first time in March. After an all-day tour of the island with many stops and walking trails in 52 degree weather, we arrived in Friday Harbor exhausted and cold and needing a hot meal before returning to the mainland. I ordered the Ginger Coconut Curry and asked if I can have both beef and tofu as my protein, which the server happily obliged. I also asked if they have hot green tea. They did not serve hot drinks. But seeing that I needed something warm, the server offered Thai tea, served warm rather than iced. She didn’t have a mug to put the hot tea, so she took my thermos, washed it and filled it with the body warming Thai tea. If you have ever enjoyed Thai ice tea in the summer to cool you down, you should try the fragrant tea warmed. Thank you for a lovely meal to end our active-filled day. Now I want to learn to make the ginger curry and tea myself. Definitely a come back...
Read moreI was a little skeptical at first because of some negative reviews but let me tell you this place was AMAZING!!!!!!!! After a long day of travel we could walk easily to the restaurant. We each ordered one curry a piece and we barely scratched the surface. We definitely could have shared and still had leftovers but they are happily welcomed considering how delicious the food was!
The food was probably some of the best Thai food either of us have ever eaten! The coconut curries were very creamy and made with fresh (never frozen) vegetables. We ordered ours with tofu that was perfectly cooked! Our two orders were ready very quickly and we could pick them up 20 minutes after we placed our online order. The meals were VERY reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food (two dishes could last two people for three meals). I don’t think I can say enough good things about this place! I would definitely recommend to friends and...
