Sky Rocket Burger-Frisco — Restaurant in Frisco

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Let me explain. We walked over from the Canopy Hotel. I always wanted to try this place. Upon arrival you could smell a sewer issue. But I paid it no mind. It was outside the restaurant. I walked in and the young lady doesn’t greet us. I guess she is in training , from what I could see. So we used the kiosk. Our order comes up and we take a seat. We immediately started swatting gnats or whatever they are. No biggie right. It’s Texas. There’s bugs. But no. This was an infestation. They were crawling on our food, drinks. It was no way you could sit there and eat without having to eat the gnats. PERIOD. So once we were covered in gnats from our hair, food, fries, and drinks. We couldn’t take it anymore. We balled up the food and headed straight for the counter. I told the young lady about the insect problem and how we threw away $38.98 worth of food. I also said, are you aware of the insect problem in the dining area. She looked at me and said, yes. I said, so you know? Again she dryly said, YEAH I KNOW..At this point I’m floored. I said, well you all should let the customer know that they may encounter a problem with the insects and let them decide if they want a gnat burger with fries. The whole time I’m talking to her gnats are accumulating on the top of my drink. She looked down and raised her shoulder to say, SO. She didn’t offer to remake our food. She didn’t even offer up an apology. She had our money and that’s ALL SHE CARED ABOUT. I would have been okay if she just made it for take out. But she was just like. Yeah there’s bugs and? So I told her never mind. I’ll write a review, so here it is. And I post plenty of reviews. This by far was a bad experience at a restaurant I’ve visited in a long time. Side note: my husband is currently taking Benadryl for the bites. We just got in town today and he’s going to have to sleep this off, so we will not be going anywhere tonight. My Wife and I are in town celebrating our 20th year anniversary. Instead of eating at our hotel, we decided to patron the SkyRocket Burger restaurant here in Frisco, TX. We thought it would be great to get that old school burger feel. Upon walking up to the door, there was this God-Awful sewage smell reeking right out front upon entry. I should have paid attention to the flaming red flag waving, but, I went along in hopes it would be better inside and we could just enjoy our meal after being on the road for 8 hours today. Sooo that didn’t happen none whatsoever. I am not a fan of this whole experience. I honestly couldn’t tell you how anything tastes because I spent the entire time fighting for my food, I only got 2 bites in. There was a gnat problem sitting with you at the table so there was no escape. I mean , I even killed a bug that landed on my forehead (which now you can tell by my mini outbreak). I am quite successful in my field, but, I did not expect to walk into a new career when we attempted to eat out tonight….an exterminator! I had to get my wife to rush me to the pharmacy bc I couldn’t stop itching and feeling like I had bugs still flying on me, in my face, arms, and forehead. Whats even worse is that, the flying annoyances were flying on my food, got in my food, in my drink, on the lid…just everywhere. $40 to become itchy, disgusted, hungry, and, now I have to order UberEats bc I haven’t been able to. I never signed up for this. We threw our food away because the gnats took over and it was just too much and also gross to have to endure such unwanted activities. I didn’t come to town for this. I didn’t even get a chancto ask for a milkshake bc I lost the battle at my table. Oh yeah, the second worse part is that when we complained, we were told that they knew about it but also was dismissed at the same time. There is nothing anyone can do or say to ever get me back there. What a waste! Hopefully, tomorrow I can wake up and feel better...

UPDATE Jan 2024: Very cold day in Jan 2023 but hot burger and tots served up. We got the single with cheese and tots. More than enough food. Glad to see the place is still open as one might think it doesn't get much business considering location. Most such restaurant are located where there is a lot of car/foot traffic. Limited parking out front so be sure to read the towing signs so you don't get towed. UPDATE Sep 2022: Overdue for another visit. Fast service and very good tasting burgers. We choose the tots instead of fries. Very good as well. Few eating in for weekday lunch but a number of take-outs noted. BTW: parking signs in front are reserved for Sky Rocket customers. If you aren't eating/picking up and park car there the manager might get it towed. He came out and asked all the customers which one they had. A few minutes later tow truck showed up. If not enough space out front use the visitor parking garage. Just what we needed after two days at home after Feb 2022 ice storm. Safer that way. So we were ready for burgers at one of the new places in Collin County. Plenty of parking if you count the parking garage right next door as limited space out front. We got one Jr and one single as not sure of size for our appetites. Next time a single would just right. Got everything except onions which is an extra cost. One small order of very delicious fries. Fast order taken and food served promptly. Lots of customers dine-in...
