The Ford Center in Frisco, TX (often folks mix up Dallas since it's all in that massive sprawl of the DFW metroplex) is pretty stellar, especially if you're into sports or looking for a top-notch venue for events. Opened up back in 2016, it's this massive, 12,000-seat indoor stadium that serves as the practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys but also does a whole lot more.
What's cool about it is that it's not just for the pros. High school football games there are like a mini Super Bowl for the local kids, giving them a taste of the big leagues. Plus, the complex includes the Cowboys' headquarters, so there's this vibe of being in the heart of football greatness when you're there.
Aside from sports, the Ford Center hosts a bunch of other events, like concerts, graduations, and community events, making it a pretty versatile spot. The facilities are state-of-the-art, from seating to sound, so whether you're there for a game or a concert, you're in for a quality experience.
The whole surrounding area, part of The Star in Frisco, turns a visit into more than just going to an event. There's shopping, dining, and even a hotel, so it's like its own little city dedicated to sports and entertainment. It’s a bit of a trek from Dallas proper, but totally worth it for the experience. Just remember, traffic can be a beast, and parking's not cheap, but that's the price you pay for top-tier venues these days.
In a nutshell, the Ford Center is a win whether you're a die-hard Cowboys fan, live for high school football, or just love catching live events in...
Read moreThere should be paid lockers outside along the solid parts of the walls. 1- Ford center can make $ on locker rentals just like water parks do. 2- if you just found out you cant bring in your purse, back pack, etc, UNLESS ITS CLEAR - SEE THROUGH, you have to walk ALL THE WAY BACK TO YOUR CAR TO HIDE YOUR BELONGINGS. AND HOPE NOBODY IS WATCHING YOU DO THIS. AND PRAY they someone doesnt break into your car either to steal your belongings. 3- Womens pants, shorts, skirts most dont have pockets to carry essentials. ID'S, CASH, CREDIT CARDS, SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS, HEALTH INSURANCE CARDS. Basically the stuff in wallet. Sure would be nice to have locker outside the Ford Center. 4- Being Handicapped, I had to walk back to my car. Luckily i was parking in Silver lot. If I had been parked some where else, I would have gotten my party & gone home. I'm sure that you don't want the ADA looking into this. 5- I did bring up the locker issue to many of the security team. They all agreed. But was told they are contractors & its up to Ford Center. 6- Hey FORD CENTER, PLEASE PUT IN LOCKERS OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. EVEN 4 security, you can xray the bags before they go into the lockers. Even like for Diaper bags too. Or have special lane for locker rentals to control it too. Like getting bowling shoes. You go thru xray, pay a fee, give your bag to a security guard, and you get a key to customer. Have a lot of small ones for just purses. And some for backpacks &...
Read moreAmazing Experience for all football fans! I took my 12 year old son to the Star as he is a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. The tour was so informative. Since it was off season we were able to see many of the areas that might be busy during football season. Since it was off season, and a Friday night, we did not see any players but did see several coaches. We saw Mike Mcarthy (HC), Kellen Moore (OC) and John Fassel the new Special teams Coordinator. All were polite, waved and said hi to our group. Bones stopped to talk to us about Cowboy football and gave my son a fist bump. I know, as an adult this is not a big deal but for a 12 year old die hard football fan...my son was elated. Our tour guides were very informative and were able to answer all of our questions. Both were very engaging and showed us the media room, locker room, training rooms and we were able to go on the practice field. Lots of pictures were taken and we had a wonderful time. The cost can seem pricey ($33.00 for adults, $28.00 for 12 and under) but it is well worth it!! If you are not able to take the tour, the front lawn and the ring of honor information around the area is very cool as well. Make a day of it and enjoy playing with the kids on the front lawn it really is an...
