Go here only if you love cilantro and super slow service.
We have eaten at several other restaurants like this and the food and service was so much better. I ordered the special naan and all i could taste was cilantro. I ate one slice and sent the other three slices back. I also ordered the chicken rica masala and combination curry and they both were loaded heavy with cilantro and went back to the kitchen also. My wife ordered the mo-mo, cheese naan and mulligatawny soup. She said the naan was the only thing that reminder her and tasted as good as other places we have eaten at. The chicken mo-mo were decent but not great and were the only things that did not taste like cilantro.
The service was awful. We were the first ones in the restaurant when it opened at 5pm and it took 45 min to get our food. A male server asked us if everything was ok but he was asking us this question and we had not even received any of the food. The waitress didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing. Most restaurants would offer to take the items that were returned off of the bill but this was not offered. I don’t mind paying for food that I eat the most of and I understand they have a food cost and a business to run but this is not a way to get someone to come back that had a bad experience and it was the first time there. No way is this place worth $75 for a...
Read moreMy husband and I have eaten at Karma Kitchen twice in the last 6 months. It is Indian Food that also has some foods from other surrounding areas of India. The first time we went we had the Karma Sampler which we split. It has several different types of Indian food. We were able to get an idea of what foods we liked best from it. It had a chicken curry, lamb curry, saag paneer, somosa, and other items. All were good, though we did enjoy some of the options more than others.
We went again last night. I had been craving the Saag Paneer since we had the Karma Sampler a few months ago. I ordered it and my husband ordered the Chicken Chili. He didn't know what to expect. Both were excellent. The Chicken Chili was not any thing like an American Chili. He really liked the flavor of it. I did too. It could have been spicier for him but he likes really spicy foods. I found it very flavorful and not too spicy for me. The Saag Paneer (picture of green dish) was excellent. It satisfied my craving for it (at least for a few days). They served rice with cumin seasoning in it with the dishes.
Both times we have gone it has been very empty, but it is the middle of Covid restrictions and we have gone in the middle of the week both times. The atmosphere is nice, the people are very attentive, and the food is excellent. I highly recommend trying this restaurant in...
Read moreEdited To Add: This was not an isolated incident. It has happened a couple of times, being ignored by the owner. I've seen a few more reviews stating his rudeness. He didn't come back to see how I was doing, if I liked my meal, or if I needed anything. What specifically do I want, you ask? I already stated it, that the owner show respect toward all his customers. He needs to set an example, because he represents "Karma Kitchen." He waited on a large table of folks and was laughing and being nice to them. I won't be back!
I am trying to figure out who the owner decides he is going to be friendly to. I have eaten in Karma Kitchen at least 7 times. The last time I was there, it was 5 PM when he opened the door. He turned around and walked without saying hello or welcome. I have complimented the food a few times, and have been friendly. This is the United States. Owners of restaurants need to adapt to everyone by showing appreciation for those that frequent their restaurant. It shouldn't matter whether you are female, male or what nationality you are. My sister-in-law stated that he was rude over the phone, taking her food gift request from Denver. Treat customers with respect. Customers are their...
