2J's Lounge — Restaurant in Fullerton

OK, maybe a strange review... But this bar saved my life...

Had a car accident nearby,rolled my truck 5 times. Could not find my cell phone, so I walked about a mile to the nearest gas station. No phones, and the cashier wouldn't let me borrow hers.

Right next door was a local dive bar, 2 Js. It's as local dive bar as you can get. Not much to look at from the outside, very comfortable and cozy inside... If you like local dive bars that is.

Anyway, I walk in & sit down. Bartender (Justina) comes over and I explain my situation. She let me use the house phone to try to call my girlfriend for a ride, but no answer. So, she goes above and beyond and uses her cell phone to text my girlfriend, also gets me a hot dog and chips & and a water, and orders me an Uber to take me home all the way up in Culver City, nearly an hours ride.

This place is awesome. Definition of a great neighborhood bar, where everyone knows everyone, nothing pretentious or overblown. And the best customer service in history!

Customer Service was poor; there was a Female Bartender more preoccupied on having a conversation at the other end of the bar, static at one spot. The only time She ambulated towards my end of the bar was when I was ordering another bottle of beer. She was not amiable or personable and looked like She didn't wanted to be there. But She had to. I can sympathize with that, still. There was no paper towel in the Men's bathroom, so I naturally, adviced Her of such; She said that She would let the Male barkeep know. Almost an hour later, when back to use the restroom, still no paper towel. After my fourth beer and other drinks for my Friends, I left thoroughly...

There's a video circulating online that shows a security guard pursuing a patron with a stun gun. The patron was simply trying to de-escalate the situation and attend to his friend, who had just been knocked out by the security team and rushed to the ER. Instead of calming things down, the bar's security guards escalated the conflict, making matters far worse. I strongly advise avoiding this bar altogether—search for the video yourself to see what happened. Until these guards are fired, steer clear. They've severely damaged the establishment's reputation, turning it into an unsafe...
