We traveled all the way from Kentucky to spend time with friends and they couldn't wait to take us to this bar... we arrived and the doormen looked at my ID & was skeptical & after bending it every which way he allowed me to go in... he got to my boyfriend and declined. We're both from KY, so our ID's look the same. (There's no difference in our ID's whatsoever besides our basic information.) The guy said he knew my boyfriends ID was fake because of his reaction of being upset due to him bending & trying to break it! We are well above 21 & it was our birthday weekend! we were very upset not only did he not get in but the doormen was very rude and accused him of having a fake ID & he said we better be lucky that he's giving it back because their suppose to take them. Not to mention I went to grab the manager to see if he would overlook his opinion and he said the same!
IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM OUT OF STATE DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR. For future references, I hope they get a scanner so they can tell the difference between real and fake.
Oh, we went down the street to Matador Cantina and had a BLAST! They didn't deny us and gave us a warm welcome! Also had a scanner at a bar in Pomona and everything...
Read moreI give it about a 3.5. It's always hit or miss for me. I won't speak on the food because I only have attended on weekends for dancing. First, I did not even realize this is a Chinese place. Every time I go I see all my Black friends here and hip hop music. Maybe it's the food that's Asian but the club is not associated? As far as the night bar goes, I only like the front room. That other room I don't care for the music. Don't know what genre it is, I don't go there. The front room is very small and cramped. There's a bit more space than we think, but everyone wants to be close to the dj to hear the music. Vibe depends on the dj. Either current songs you hear everywhere, some hits all throughout the 2000s, or old school rappers. So if your style isn't being played then it makes it easy to leave. The bathroom doors swing out into the walkways and bump people. Not sure what can be done about that. Nights can be great because familiar faces attend weekly and you got your fav song. Or they can be trash because familiar faces can be seen, people bump you without a care, and you don't care for the music.
So depends how you want to spend 20ish mins in line...
Read moreI cannot recommend this bar. On the evening of Friday, June 28th my 23 year old son visited this place for its 80s night. My husband and I dropped him off about 11pm and were planning to pick him up at 2am. The black security guard was disrespectful and rude to my son. My son has high functioning autism and just wanted to have a couple of drinks and listen to good music. This security guard called my son a punk and told him something is wrong with him. My son told him that he has autism and was going to pull out a card I got him to show people proof of his diagnosis but the security guard just laughed in his face and said yeah right and kicked him out, because according to the security guard, he was taking too long to pay his tab, my son spent about $85 at bar for himself and a few girls who asked him for drinks. My husband and I picked my son up at about 1:15am My husband and I were going to visit this place in a couple weeks but after my son's experience, we will not be visiting Ziings...
