Cool place. The open mic is popular but needs some work. The venue is amazing, the people are amazing but the way they do the list is ridiculous. I’m all for giving newcomers a shot but you have to limit it or what’s the point of ever returning? If you’re not new you basically have to be there around 5 PM to secure a decent spot on the list. Why bother? You can go to at least 5 other Tuesday mics in a 30 mile radius and, while you might sacrifice a little in quality, at least you’ll get to play (and often more than 1 song). I would limit the shenanigans to the first 10 newcomers based on who got there first. Everything else should be first-come, first-serve. An open mic where you get 1 song should not be a 5-6 hour venture—though people seem to be willing (for whatever reason). Someone should crunch the numbers; they could probably adjust frequency and/or add a cover/minimum purchase and still turn a profit after all the PROs fees. If is your first time, I highly recommend it as the venue is wonderful and professional and the audio setup is great. Really the only issue here is that the mic is so desirable that you can hardly get in on it because newcomers flood the scene; it just makes me wonder how or why anyone is dedicated enough to be a “regular”. As for the eatery itself, the desserts were very good and the people were...
Read moreI am now sitting at Dripp cafe as I write this review. I went to the night owl around 11:00 to pass time as I wait for my meeting at 3:00PM.
Finding parking wasn’t too bad since it’s right by a parking structure.
The interior is pretty interesting, (murals of owls) so if you love owls, you’ll find it cute. However, if you’re trying to study, it’s pretty dark inside and there are limited seating. But i feel like that’s pretty typical for a local coffee shop. There’s a stage for open mic nights.
They do have functioning outlets- so that’s a Star!
I ordered a blueberry iced tea- not a fan, it tastes weird, I added honey to it so that’s probably why?
Customer service- I’m not sure if the barista was chill or just annoyed. I had to ask for the WiFi password as he was talking to a coworker and it felt awkward as I asked him. He continued talking to his coworker, they were complaining about stuff. I wasn’t able to get the password to work but I didn’t wanna ask him again since he seemed like he’s going to be annoyed again.
Overall, not the best experience. I’ve been to many coffee shops and I’m pretty easy to please if you see my reviews. However, this coffee shop needs to work on their drinks and customer service. Also, their interior. I’m surprised it has a 4.5 Star here. But I don’t think I’ll be...
Read moreNo wifi, they ask you buy things every 2 hours for what? minimal seating and no wifi? We asked the guy upfront about outlets (I think he's the owner) and he said "I'm sure there's some around"....didn't bother to help us look, we had to dig out a power strip from the stage. Also ordered coffee, first one was lukewarm so we had them remake it. I ordered an iced coffee with 2 stevia and the cashier shook his head as if to say "ok." Then got an iced coffee with no Stevia...turns out they don't have any, so I asked for 2 Splenda, instead of immediately getting the Splenda this guy answered a phone call then had me wait around for a bit. Also didn't serve us as he was too busy cleaning the kitchen....lmao....what kind of place is this....would give no stars if I could but the coffee...
