Waffle House — Restaurant in Fultondale

My husband and I traveled to Alabama and didn’t make it in until late. We were staying in Gardenville, and this was one of the closest open restaurants. We eat at Waffle House in our home town all of the time, (and even ate at one in Georgia in March 2020) and I’ve never been treated so rude!!! I decided to call in the order as it was late and I Knew it would take time to prepare..... whom ever took my order was very rude and kept cutting me off asking of that was all..... I got there and they were out of sweet tea (Which was fine) but I had to go to the vehicle and ask what my husband wanted as a replacement.... to which the guy acted very annoyed about! While he was ringing up my order I asked for picante sauce, which is normality given in a to go cup.... he did tell me I could pour some on the hash browns... but again it was not for my food, it was for my husbands... I asked for some to go and was again told he would let me pour some on the hash browns... when I tried to tell him it wasn’t for me (I didn’t want to put too much) I was just ignored!! He seemed very annoyed that the restaurant was busy.... and didn’t seem to care of the customer needs were met or not! One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had!! I will never go back to...

I'm only leaving one star because it won't let me leave zero or negative stars There was only one other customer in the place when we came in, and then one more came in after we sat down. We ordered three coffees and was ready to order our food. But before we could place our food order he walked away to the new customer that had came in. He took his order and gave it to the cook. He came back to our table to take our order, but still no coffee. We asked again for our coffee. He brought 2 of the 3 coffees to the table and walked away again. We called him back over to ask about the 3rd coffee and was told he would have to make some more. We each had ordered chili and grilled cheese. After waiting for 20 minutes on the coffee he brought out our grilled cheese. We sat there for another 10 minutes waiting for our chilli. We flagged him down to ask about our chili and that's when we were informed that they were out of chili. We had sat there for almost 30 minutes waiting for our food, and then we had to ask before we found out they were out of chili. Now I might have let this go had it been 3 am on a Saturday night but this was 5 pm on a Tuesday Walked out and will never go back to...

The cook made our food perfectly. The waitress, however, had to leave us to go outside to take care of a personal matter. No one offered to help us while she was gone. She was very nice and apologized for leaving us and tried to make up for her absence. As for the store and the manager, they're a joke. The napkin holders were so filthy we wouldn't touch them. Also, the menus were sticky so I had to hold them with napkins. The floors were the nastiest I have ever seen in a business. Even truck and auto parts and service stores are cleaner. To top it off, as we were leaving, someone took a mop and brushed it across the floor. She didn't even sweep first. Even WORSE, she pushed the food and mud against the counter in the corner of the counter and the floor. GROSS! You are kidding me! This is unsanitary at best. Furthermore, she only did the area where people walk by the high counter to get to the tables on the right side. She never did anything on the left side. The owner either has no pride in their business or don't know what is going on. They should go by during the day unexpectedly and look around. If it doesn't make them sick, then I know they don't care. I won't...
