Subway — Restaurant in Fultondale

Tried using our egift card at the 30798 location in Fultondale AL, and it didn't work. The clerk (pretty sure was the owner of this location) didn't process it properly and just said it didn't work so we had to use our visa. After I read to him (from the gift card instructions) and approached him (basicly he didn't press "giftcard" option as payment, but CARD I am assuming), so he said let's try BUYING 3 COOKIES, which I didn't want, and so he did and it worked. Asked him to return our sandwich purchase back to our VISA so I can use gift card, and he bluntly said its IMPOSSIBLE! Not only that, he COULD NOT return the cookies that I DIDNT WANT! I had worked in retail and service industry for 20 years, and had never experienced this level of not caring about your customer. I know one thing- everything is absolutely possible, and how you reconsiliate your books, it's clearly not my job, but customer comes first. If I knew I couldn't use my gift card, I would have made much more smaller purchase and shared my sandwich with husband, and definitely not TEACH this operator, at the cost of my money, how to operate his business. This Subway is connected to a Shell gas station. The 2 employees that were working on the Subway side were very curtious and pleasant but what surprised me the most was the fact that both young ladies took pride in their work. When placing our order both were extremely knowledgeable about the ingredients and even made suggestions that would compliment the already delicious sandwiches. On our way out of the Subway side we stopped and made a purchase on the Shell gas station side. The young lady at the counter treated us like she was very happy that we came in. The line was almost out the door but she didn't rush us at all. She had the line talking with each other, laughing and even sharing recipes. We almost hated to leave. We will most definitely be back at this Subway/Shell Station. I will even go out of my way to go here. The gas may be a few pennies more, but with the attitudes and actions of these employees it is well worth it. I wish I would have gotten...

If I could id give them no stars.... DO NOT GO TO THE SUBWAY IN FULTONDALE IN THE SHELL!!!!! I went there yesterday asked for heavy onion and he barely put any on my sandwich I said "I'm gonna need more" and I was told that he couldn't do that NOTE HE WAS THE OWNERS NEPHEW. Ive NEVER had an issue with heavy onion on my sandwiches at any subway. I purchased two sandwiches that were basically the same except one had banana peppers on it. And they look and tasted totally different.
