So this just happened at the McDonaldâs in Fuquay-Varina. Went through the drive thru took about 8min to get to the 2nd window to get my food. The guy gave me my 2 happy meals(for the kids) and there drinks. He starts to hand me the bag with the rest of the food when he stops and asks me to pull-up they are waiting on a chicken tender for My wifeâs wrap. So I do(Big mistake). I sat there for about 3-4 min no one came out so I pulled up and parked. Took the happy meals with me back in side where I waited about 3-5 more min before I could get to the counter. Saw the manager who was working to clear the line but they were under staffed. I see the drive thru guy making a coffee and ask him if they ever got the rest of my food and he just gave me a dumbfounded uuuuummmm OOO. And walked away. I finally talk with the manager at this point itâs been well over 15 min since I placed my order in the drive thru. I told her I was asked to pull up, I did and no one brought me my food so I would need her to re make all the food since itâs now prob cold. Remember I have the kids meals already and they tried to hand me the rest of the food minus the wrap almost 10 min ago. She looks at me and says ok, re rings the food (I see it pop up on their monitor). NOW IT GETS GOOD. She now goes over to the drive thru finds my bag of food brings it back to the EXPO point and I guess thinking sheâs whispering proceeds to tell the cooks âthere is nothing wrong just take this back there re package it and send it back up. I here her tell them this. Not wanting to believe what I just Hurd I watch the kitchen staff. Now Iâm 6â4 so I can see all the way to the back. I see the first cook open one of the burgers feel the bun with his gloved hand close the box and put it back up to be given back out. I see the other cook take another burger open it take it out of the box feel it look at it put it in a now box and send it back to the front to be given out. At this point Iâm steaming mad. I say and I quote âumm mama ummm you can just give me my money back I Hurd what you said to your cooks and I just watched them take the same cold food now and just re box it. The manager not thinking I could see or here what they had done went pale. She gave me a refund and lost at least 2 other customers in the process bc it took her so long to refund me and had no ability to take new orders bc she was taking up the only in use register. I went through the drive-thru with my kids, and when we got home and started eating, I noticed what appeared to be BLOOD on the chicken nuggets and on the fries bag. This is by far the most disgusting and unsafe experience I've ever had at any fast food restaurant. Completely unacceptable and beyond unsanitary. What made it even worse was how the situation was handled. I came in back to the store and made a complaint immediately, and the manager was absolutely no helpârude, dismissive, and acted like she didnât care at all. No apology, no concern, just attitude. The Latina woman manager attempted to tell me that all the employees preparing food were wearing gloves, which was clearly not true. I saw several employees without gloves, and when I pointed that out, she responded with an attitude and even rolled her eyes. That level of carelessness is infuriating, especially when peopleâs health is involved. Itâs extremely alarming that employees may be handling food while injured, risking serious contamination. I have a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old who had already started eating before I noticed. Iâve reported this to McDonaldâs corporate and am still waiting on a response. This is unacceptable. Today's subject: "I'm a McDonalds Manager and I don't care". The only reason anybody even goes to a McDs anymore- unless they are under age 6 or over age 70- is for the FAST food. Without that, they have very little to offer. Certainly not cleanliness or courteousness! Yet, apparently that seems to be lost on the so-called "management" at this particular store. As a parent and resident of F-V, I have watched the level of service steadily decrease and the wait times increase at this location. Waiting 5 to 7 minutes in a drive-through for an order of ANY size is unacceptable. Such complacency is a direct reflection of the attitude of the managers of this store. Perhaps you people should spend a little more time out on the front motivating your employees to do better, and a little less time in the back office texting with your boyfriend/girlfriend (as has been observed on more than one occasion). That is not leading by example, regardless of what you think you should be making an hour. And your drive-through customers, in particular, are tired of suffering as a result. I would advise all future customers at this store to be on the lookout for this behavior, report it to the area DM and hold these people accountable.
