The sales representative, Eric, was very polite, knowledgeable about the products in the store, not just the mattresses, and not pushy on a sale. He greeted me as soon as I walked into the store, & asked what I was looking for. I needed an upgrade on my bed & size, from Queen to King. I explained I had to stay within a certain price range & couldnt go over. He then asked me a couple of questions about my sleep habits, i.e. position, partner/kids, etc. He asked my preference on type of mattress. Which all I really know is plush, medium or firm, lol, besides what I've read online. The 1st mattress I tried was to soft, & he noticed when I got up, I pressed on my lower back and stretched. He asked if I have lower back pain, & here lately most of it is when I get out of bed. He then showed me another mattress, and an adjustable base. Fantastic! He asked if I've tried a couple different brands of mattresses & I said no. He showed me around a few other mattresses, with different price ranges not deviating much from my price range. Most sales reps only want to show you the expensive mattresses and try to sale you on them. I appreciated this sales rep, Eric, didn't do that, he showed me a variety. He was very patient as I chose between 2 different mattresses, and a base. He told me with it being the Labor Day sale, & with what I selcted, I got 2 free gifts, either 2 pillows or 1 pillow & mattress cover. Even said if I wanted to upgrade the pillow/mattress cover, he would knock so much off, which I figured all part of the Labor Day sale, but still was great with trying to save money where I could. I was undecided on 2 different pillows, so he sweetened the deal. I got the 2 different cooling pillows, and the upgraded mattress cover for $250 off. By the time it was all said and done, I have a comfy King size mattress, adjustable base, 2 pillows and a mattress cover (waterproof, hypoallergenic, & few other things), plus delivery, for $500 under my budget! Last year we were in dire need of a queen mattress for our smaller 1 bedroom apartment that we were living in. We always heard great things about Mattress Firm, so since we lived over in White Oak at the time, we decided to go over to that location and the experience was great.
So this year when it was time to look for our California King bed for our new 2 bedroom apartment we knew exactly where to go. We recently moved to Fuquay so when we walked into the Fuquay Varina store on Martin Luther King Day, we were greeted by Harvey who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He even mentioned that the store manager over at Garner last year was now the new store manager here in Fuquay!
We told him our price range and then he asked us about our sleeping habits. I had mentioned that i recently was diagnosed with CRPS and my leg, foot, neck and back are always in really bad pain. My boyfriend explained how he always snores in the middle of the night and it tends to wake us both up since he has sleep apnea.
Harvey knew exactly which mattress in our price range that would work for us so he had us try out the Sterns and Foster Hurston Luxury Cushion Firm Mattress. Instantly we both knew this was the one for us. Read moreWe purchased a king size mattress had a very bad experience with a young gentleman (if you can call him a gentleman) at an outlet. The manager at the Fuquay location was very apologetic and helped us get the mattress we wanted. But we were worried it was too soft so we went in and explained and exchanged it for a firm. The firm mattress flared my back ip so bad I had to go on a steroid and couldn’t sleep on it anymore. When we went back to the store again they then informed us you can only exchange it once (which no one explained to us before, but they said we could if we paid the exchange price again and another $80 to ensure we wouldn’t exchange or return agian. I do not however understand with how much we spent to exchange mattresses that we had to pay more for the new mattresses we purchased because for one they were used and two the one mattress has a year in the cover for it. I’m praying these new ones will be ok for us but the entire experience was exhausting and expensive and we were not given the right information throughout until we went to someone different and they explained to us that the last person should have told us the firm would not be a good option for us. If the salesmen have to undergo three months of training to help you find a bed wy couldn’t someone have told us before we spent more money to exchange for the firm that it was not recommended. It would have been nice to know at that time so we wouldn’t have had to spend so much more in the process. Just very tired...
