I used the drive-thru today, and I am extremely disappointed. I ordered two roast beef sandwiches, and thought it would be an easy order--boy was I wrong! I pull up to the window and have to wait about 3 minutes for someone to come, and when they do, they asked me if I had ordered yet. Apparently, the woman (possibly the manager) manning the drive-thru failed to put my order in. So the gentleman tried to help me, but he ended up ringing me up for items I didn't order, and I didn't pay attention on the receipt. The woman who initially "took" my order come with two beef and cheddars...not my order. I politely correct her and let her know what I had ordered, and she starts throwing a temper tantrum like it was my fault she's incompetent at her job! She eventually closes the window when she realizes that I'm not going to simply accept her mistake and drive away with food I don't want and didn't order. When she comes back, she tries to charge me again. I explain that I've already been charged for the wrong order, and I present my credit card so she can charge me correctly for the correct order. Temper tantrum #2 ensues, as the receipt matches the incorrect order and she starts yelling at me how the beef and cheddar is different from the roast beef sandwich. At this point, I start to offer her my card again so she can just refund the original incorrect order and I can go somewhere that isn't incompetent. Instead, she ends her diatribe and seems like she is just going to let it go--what she should have done in the first place instead of being a complete witch about it.
When I get home and open up the bag, it's STILL the wrong order!
TL;DNR: (1) They failed to place my order. (2) They then placed an incorrect order. (3) The woman yelled at me because she is bad at her job. (4) Tried to double-charge me. (5) When the double-charge is pointed out, they switch the food out for a cheaper option than what...
Read moreIt's a basic Arby's fast food joint with a smaller than many dining area. But it has really friendly staff every time I've been there. Orders are filled efficiently. Very long drive through lines as peak and near peak times, and a small parking lot which makes it worse, which is why I never use that.
They are good about following Covid safety protocols, which is never a sure thing here in Florida, even in Gainesville.
Staff didn't believe that Google Pay would work (they thought it was Apple Pay which they said wouldn't work), and I was hungry so didn't take the time to let them let me try it. Turns out the payment terminal screen did show the universal tap-to-pay symbol so it likely would have worked, and a different staffer corrected them later that Apple Pay does work.
But their terminal is also wrong for proper EMV chip cards too. Proper international EMV is PIN-priority, and my non-tap EMV debit card is from one of the few US institutions that properly prefers PIN even for "credit". And it prompted for PIN, but failed approval that way. Users with such correct (but sadly rare in USA for "chip cards") EMV debit cards like international students (or UNFCU credit union members like me) be advised - you need to hit "cancel" to pay as "credit". Arby's franchise owner here needs to get their payment terminals and merchant account set up properly. It's years late for this to still be happening, and for that matter it shifts the stolen-fraudulent card risk contractually back to the store,...
Read moreI had a very unpleasant experience today at an abbeys drive-through. Normally I would have just gone back to get a replacement, but the cashier did not have time to answer my questions and got upset that I would ask about what was on the pitcher of the ad. "The Birthday Special " So when I pulled up to the window to pay, One of the other employees came to the window to apologize for the rude behavior. Normally I would have just drove off, but at that point, I was starving and I got it anyway. What got me mad, was the fact that the lady, That responded to her co-worker's rude behavior, asked me if I would take the sandwich with the red sauce on it? when I specifically said I did not want any of that red sauce on my sandwich and she did it anyway, so that's why I wrote this review, because that's unacceptable. So I won't be coming back any time soon ☹️ Only reason, I gave it two star's was because the hash Browns that where in question, was amazing! But my sandwich looked like someone put...
