I managed to be the last-minute guy, but they really didn't mind. I apologized ahead of time when I called, and they said, "Hey man, we are a small business; We could use the money." I walked through the yellow screen doors and felt between worlds as it seemed part saloon, part Grannie Hatties Kitchen. You're met with what every tibbys and Joe's crab shack strives for with art and music themed posters on the wall, with an organic "I lived it, I didn't buy it to look cool" aesthetic. With a small dining area and a diner sized kitchen that basically looked like a slightly more spacious food truck, bar top counter, and engaging employees, this is the favorite spot you aren't currently eating at. Note: The menu online is for the food truck, and they have an in store menu. I got a little excited for an item on the online menu, but I was relieved when I found they had fresh, non fried options on the in store menu. Their top seller is the Red Beans and Rice, don't sleep on it, at least get a side of it. It was so good, I had to buy more to take home. It was so good that it ruined my expectations for good red beans and rice. This is now the standard. I also had their take on a cold cut hoagie. This gem is made with homemade deli cuts, and it nailed the experience of what it felt like having one of these bad boys back in my meat-eating days. Stop by. You won't regret it. This is like stumbling off bourbon street and landing in a local dive in NOLA. Pair your meal with an Abita craft brewed Root Beer, just be sure there's one...

This was my first time visiting Frenchman Street Food, and I’m so glad I did! It’s exciting to see a fully vegan restaurant in Gainesville. We ordered the breakfast po’ boy and the chicken po’ boy with sides of roasted red potatoes plus red beans and rice. My mom and I swapped sandwiches so we could try both—absolutely delicious. The bread was perfect for a po’ boy: soft inside, crunchy outside. I also loved the variety of hot sauce options!

The vibe is awesome and inviting, and I was thrilled to see that brunch is served all day (a big plus for a brunch person like me). John was super sweet and friendly, and the whole staff went above and beyond to make sure guests were comfortable even though the A/C was out that day. We sat outside and had no issues, but I give the team major credit for working through the heat and keeping everything running smoothly.

I’ll definitely be back to try more menu items—slowly but surely, I think I’ll make my way through...

As I sit here, waiting for my food, I can only say great things about this place. Inside this small, high energy, gold mine, you feel like you are outside in the streets of France, which the exception that everyone speaks very clear English. Keep in mind, I've never been to France. I've already had great interactions with the two positive guys, who from what I can tell, really enjoy being here. They are kind, social, and funny. They hooked me up with a cup of steaming ice cold coffee and milk (they only have non-dairy 😂). We showed interest in their stickers and they justed handed us a sheet of them. Very kind and giving. Op the food just arrived! There house made eegz and hamn is damn good!! Waffles are top drawer. I really like these guys, their company, and what they represent....
