Los Mariachis Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Gainesville

Server charged us extra and knew it. We’ve always paid at register (for years!!) but he said he could take care of it. My son paid with a card and I didn’t think the total was correct. When we asked for a receipt he took his time and when he did give it, he began explaining why the price was more. He rang up 2 chili rellanos that were $5.49 each and said they are the same price as what I ordered, chimichangas. I said no, the chimis are 3.49 each. He then proceeds to tell me no they are 4.49. I politely said no, your menu, which I had pulled up on my phone and it was the same as the in house menus stated 3.49. Even if they were 4.49 that’s still not “the same price”.

He did not offer to refund any money and just said the menus have the old prices. I said they need to be updated.

He knew what he was doing which is why he tried explaining to us BEFORE we could even look at the receipt. So this establishment knowingly stole money from me.

I can not stand dishonesty let alone a thief. I did not say another word. Stealing $2-$4 from me was not worth making a scene in which I look like a belligerent angry customer and then try to be made a fool of. What I can do is share my experience with this review and tell every person I come across. Oh and of course, never go back. So for $4, they lost at least 1 family for a lifetime.

Went here for the first time since we were in the area. The worst service I have ever encountered! Server took a long while to get to us, seemed extremely distracted, finally got our drink order before getting the chips and salsa. Then server had her family come in and we barely saw her. Had to get her attention to even fill our drinks while she kept see to her family at the other table. They got their order way before we did. She burned my husband and daughter's hand with their plate, didn't warn them the plates were very hot before giving to them. She seemed like she couldn't be bothered to take the payment for our food so went to the front to pay which we had to wait even longer because both hostess weren't there at the front. Now the food was ok. Salsa was pretty bland and the queso was not very good and tasted very water down. I could understand some of the wait if the place was busy but there wasn't too many people in this...

Yummy! Being married to a food broker means he spend the first 20 minutes of any meal we eat out picking the place apart. Drives me crazy however We loved this place. We could not find a negative thing! The salsa was homemade fresh, chips warm and the queso was made from scratch. It's not often that queso is made from scratch. ! Our main course was excellent. The plateing was appealing, the portions were large, the food was warm and they used real cheese not the American-processed Cheese. The sour cream sause was great to! The frozen margarita was well made and a Large serving. For the margarita, two large entrees, and a cup of queso our bill was about 34$. That's a deal for us. The owner even came by and met us as well as asked for feedback on anything we thought needed improvement. Love this place!
